Hello!

my partner met a guy at work who is lovely, he’s down to earth, friendly plus he’s great with our daughter. The only problem is I have lost my boyfriend to him. There’s no longer nice romantic dinner dates unless I set an extra plate. When family comes to visit us our new boyfriend is also there. its to a point where its too much. Im glad my partner has friends and has his own time but im at a point where im starting to feel like the third wheel in my own relationship. Help my boyfriends replaced me! has anyone else gone through this

  • Yep, been there done that a couple of times over the years, hubby has been through a couple of bromances. The last one was with my brother in law who passed away in 2005 from a heart attack aged 37 :( Hubby hasn’t had one since, they all pass eventually

  • Also; maybe sit down and discuss this with him?

  • No; I have not experienced this; hope the situation has improved.

  • Oh dear! I’ve never had to compete for hubby’s affections

  • It happens all the time. Just let your boyfriend know that you would like to spend some couple alone time and it should all work out.

  • I too have experienced this!! It’s just a phase, they’ll soon drift apart. In my case, I started treating him the same way and he felt all those jealous, left out feelings and ended up apologising :)

  • I have been through this – however it was not just one bromance it was half a rugby team. There was 5 players in particular that almost LIVED at our house, 5 out of 7 days a week one or more of them were over for dinner and often after a night out id find one crashed on my couch in the morning. Certainly frustrating!! Lucky for me we had to move interstate for work so we left them behind, and my husband works too much to join a new rugby team. Pleased to say my house is now peaceful (with the exception of my 3 toddlers running around causing havoc).
