Hello!

On a recent visit to Japan we were all amazed at the amount of vending machines there were around. It felt like every street corner had a machine of some type either cold drinks, snacks or hot drinks or even both! My kids loved this. We even got Ben and Jerrys ice cream out of the vending machines! One thing we were all taken with was the hot drink vending machines. You could order a hot chocolate, coffee or tea and it arrived in a can (which was cold to touch) On opening the can it somehow heated up the drink inside and you then had a nice warm hot chocolate or coffee! It was great! I would love to have these drinks here as like this weekend standing in the wind and rain watching kids sport it would have been great to have one in my bag at the ready to warm us up!

  • You can get these in Australia too. My daughter bought home a couple of hot chocolate cans from Target one time. They were disgusting :/

  • I remember as a child, there was a canned drink that was stored on the supermarket shelf and could be microwaved. I can’t remember the brand. Hope the drinks come here. The Australian market is not a top priority for many due to the small population and transport costs.

  • I was watching a vlogger on youtube and her account name is, Sharla in Japan and she was talking about the vending machines in japan and how if you don’t have money on you you can use your train card or something like that to pay for your drink or snack and I thought that was a neat idea. I’m not too sure on having those vending machines here in Australia because ALOT of vending machines I’ve come across has either been vandalised or smashed into plus those vending machines in Japan look expensive considering it’s touch screen and all.

  • My hubby purchased a coffee in a can that heats it’s self, in New Zealand three years ago, he was so impressed he bought one back home. They have two or possibly three inner cambers, once you open, a chemical is released in one camber to heat the beverage. Great idea but a little expensive and they take up a little more room to store the cans. But do believe they will come here eventually.
