I am extremely lucky in that I have never been subjected to the abuse those poor kids were. As a friend of a survivor though, the evidence of the damage done is there to see – day after day. I fail to comprehend how a man like Cardinal Pell can stand there and repeatedly claim to have no memory of the events that occured under his watch. No one could ever forget.

  • His attitude to all this is disgusting. I hope Pope Francis is listening and takes some action towards Cardinal Pell.

  • He should be ashamed of himself indeed.
I’m so glad that Tim Minchin wrote his song about Cardinal Pell. And that, through the money made by his song, some of the victims were able to fly to Rome. Poor people. It must be so emotional for them being there. They suffered so much. And they suffer even more now, if Cardinal Pell keeps denying what happened.

  • It was thirty years ago, so I could accept him forgetting a detail or two. Not everything. Shae on him.

    • Time is no excuse for such a large quantity of serious offences, especially when he helped move the perpetrators.

  • This case and others are being watched closely by all that have suffered.

  • It’s no wonder catholic congregations are in decline! It’s time the priests were subjected to real justice, not prayers.
