My daughter Hirt her foot at school. I poked her up and took her to the doctor to be told nothing wrong with it was what I was told. Two days later my cholla foot was still sore. Went back to the doctor to be told that she was playin on it to get my attention as I had taken days off irk to spend with her. I wasn’t happy with this and asked to have it x-rayed. This revealed she had indeed broken her foot.

Went back to the doctor and he plastered it. It dodnt heal and I had to end up going to a specialist, in the end my girl had to have her foot pinned in three places.

Please if you doubt a doctor go to another one or ask for what you want.

  • I agree with you that Doctor’s are not always right. If in doubt get a second opinion!

  • I broke a bone in my foot – not badly enough to need surgery though. Mine had to be strapped up (not plastered) and I wasn’t allowed to put any weight on it for 10 days. Then I was able to gradually start putting some weight on it before walking on it properly. In your case your Dr. should have been able to see the extent of the damage and refer you to a specialist or the Emergency Dept of a hospital with a letter and the Xrays.

  • Yes, Drs don’t always get it right and we put so much faith in them. They’re dealing with our lives and health, they should work harder to get it right

  • Doesn’t sound like a very good doctor. Good on you for insisting.

  • So very true! Mums know their kids better than anyone and we know if there is something more wrong than what the doctors think. Well done for being persistent and not giving up. xx
