Being a single parent is hard, Since i was 6 months pregnant ive been doing everything on my own. It was a relief, i no longer needed to support my daghters father, I had more money from my fulltime job to get my daughter the things she has needed, but once i had to leave, and once the maternity leave pay ended, Im in a rut. Ive had to move back to my parents because rent went up, centrelink basics wouldnt cover rent for a new place, studying full time and uni and having to pay for daycare… i cant see a way out! a house with 7 people, trying to get a 9 month old to sleep is impossible… More time in daycare, more work, and hoing i can putup with this untill my degree is over

I hope it has worked out for you and you get a good job when your studies are finished. If your little girl is going to daycare, you could ask them how long she is sleeping there during the day. If they baby is having long day sleeps she may be less willing to go to sleep at night.They are supposed to record that and what they have eaten during the day (well, they do in SA). Would your family be unhappy if you asked them to make it easier for you to get your daughter to sleep at night especially if noise is an issue? You should be able to get a Govt. subsidy to help towards Day Care fees. I know it is still expensive on a very low income though. Do you have family or a good friend who could care for your daughter one day a week and you supply all the baby’s food etc.
