What fun it has been to pick tomatoes, beans, and herbs in our little plot this year. I have never been big into my garden, but growing my own produce and knowing it has been grown without chemicals is so exciting. Next year I will get more adventurous and plan my little plot out, to maximise output. I need to buy a proper compost bin I think, to utilise our household waste and recycle it back into food. It is super fun doing my bit to help our family and environment be healthier

  • I think vegie gardens are getting contagious as everyone is starting to do it now and now and then we might get some idea in our head to start a new plant etc. Just be careful with fruits . Last time we had a strawberry plant and I think magpies got to it so we put a mesh around it to stop them from pecking it . We have a lemon tree in our yard that seems to last forever .

  • This is indeed a great way to help the environment. If everybody would start growing some of the food he needs, the world would soon become a better place. Well done!! :-)

  • Home grown produce is just so very good to eat. Another alternative to consider is a worm farm. Its well worth spending the money getting one with live worms from a supplier. Some Councils give great discounts to residents for worm farms and compost bins – check this out before you purchase one. Enjoy!

    • Worms farms are incredible and brilliant for the garden.
