Hello!

Hi everyone, don’t mind me, I just need to vent. I’ve never been on a diet before and didn’t know up until now how tough it is. I am on the diet for two weeks now not by choice but for a health reasons and oh boy, it’s difficult! I couldn’t even imagine how much I love bread, chocolate or raw fruit and how much I hate meat, soups and boiled vegetables. It’s a challenge making soups every day, eating meat and soups every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner, snacking on eggs or meat. I am well aware of health benefits this diet will give me, but the fact of me being on these particular foods for at least 2 years is a difficult one to digest. When I started I was so excited about all the benefits I’ll be gaining and the meds I will be eliminating, that I wanted to put my whole family on this diet. Well, all four of them flatly refused, they’ll eat soup twice a week but not every day, and turn their noses off my meat – soup dinners while enjoying something more exciting. So I am left to deal with it on my own, munching on my eggs while baking birthday cake and boiling all my vegetables while making pizza for the rest of the family. Well the only good part is I cut all sugar, processed foods and treats from their diet and they don’t complain, because if they would I’ll be feeding them my soups every day.

  • When you say health reasons does this mean it’s being prescribed by a health care professional?

  • Everything in moderation, don’t go on a diet as such just cut out the really bad stuff, cut down on portions and if you have a little wobble, don’t worry, just get right back on the wagon again.

  • There should be no reason you still can’t eat bread oh and fresh fruit for goodness sake ….. You won’t last and any good work you have done will be lost. Everyone thinks that bread is a bad thing but it isn’t it is the amount and it is a good carbohydrate …. Please rethink you diet …. It shouldn’t be a diet it should be a eating regime. Eat 5 times a day.

  • 2 years is a long time. I would look into a personal trainer or a gym. You have to remember the more you burn the more you can eat. Look into detoxing and cleaning your liver too as this helps lose weight. Make sure you eat 5-6 times a day small portions and healthy. Strict long diets just are impossible.
