Hello!

Hi. I know this probably sounds silly but i have a 2 year old daughter and am 38 weeks pregnant with my 2nd. Another girl. I love that i am having another girl but i have had people tell me i need a son too. I can deal with those but my toddler doesn’t sleep all night in her bed. Not a biggie but the reason why is because i can’t sleep when she sleeps in her room. My husband finds it hilarious that i am the scared one.
Next i have been told that i might most likely need a c section due to a lot of reasons but i am terrified of the recovery time this will attract.
Sorry just needed to vent

  • I was incredibly scared about everything with my second too. I think it is a common combination of being pregnant and miserable, and being fully aware of the gravity of having a child. You’re not alone!

  • It doesn’t sound silly at all. As mums, we are often plagued by what others might see as silly little problems, but to us they’re not silly at all. PS I would be worrying about recovery time after a c section too. They’re no picnic in the park!

  • I read stories like this and I am honestly jealous. My kids won’t sleep in my bed for more then a two hour nap and then they start kicking and staying awake and drive me crazy. Maybe my next one might like to snuggle a little more lol.

  • firstly, congrats on your second baby. it is normal to feel anxious about how things will be. I had a c section and the recovery wasn’t too bad. everyone is different, but in general you should be up and going fairly quickly and definitley back to normal by about 6 weeks. maybe keep trying to get your daughter to sleep in her cot, so its easier when bub comes along.

  • You will be fine and it will all work out. I had c-sections with all 4 of my babies. And I had toddlers who slept in my bed when baby arrived. All of them are fine, only my youngest (2) still sleeps in my bed occasionally. It will all work out I promise, don’t stress.

  • Thanks ladies. Last night she slept in our bed but the 2 nights prior she spent all night in her bed. I was so proud. Could barely sleep coz i kept checking on her but that was ok. Last night hubby was the one putting her to bed and apparently she wouldn’t go to sleep so he plonked her in our bed…. Sigh.
On the plus side, i’m going to hospital tomorrow night and being induced on thursday morning. So i will have my precious new bundle soon.
But i have a rent inspection onFriday lol…. Everything happening at the same time

  • You are eventually going to have to let her sleep in her own bed. Maybe you need a bit of help?

  • Its better out than in with venting it helps you stop stressing so much. With having the c section what will be eill be it can not be helped. But onve the bubs is here your daughter will be so gentle and soft with a little reminding so dont worry about that. Our oldest son never fully slept in his own bed till he was ready at seven, we would put him to bed in his own but he would always find his way down. Funny thing is as so as he stopped his little brother stated. We have the room now so we are not worried..
and to all thoose people who say you need a boy, if you have one of each it does not define who your are some people keep trying but never acheive getting the other sex. silly of people to say that.
