Hello!

I love books and in particular I love good cook books. They are my favourite type of book and I can spend hours in bookstores and markets searching for unique and interesting cook books. I like both new and old cook books. When I get a cook book I make sure I cook everything in the cook book. I have to say some recipes have been more successful than others! On the upside by cooking everything in a cook book I have exposed everyone in my home to a wide range of foods. In particular, I do love cooking international recipes and some of these have become firm favourites. My cook books are dog eared and stained with food. Do other Mom’s go through their cook books from cover to cover and cook the recipes?

  • My hubby loves cook books. He’s bought so many over the years! I think he was trying to tell me something. Lol. I hardly use any of them. Hubby is extremely fussy, won’t try anything new, so I cook the same menu on repeat. Don’t need cook books for that :/

  • I love a good cookbook also but as yet have not done one front to back. More often than not I read it through then pick out a few and they become a staple from that book. Might be interesting to try out your method when free time becomes less of a factor and more of a day to day occurrence. Thanks for sharing.

  • I do like cook books but my usual method is to do everything by hand- what I remember in my head always works best.

  • I have a heap of cookbooks! I don’t cook everything, but nearly! I also have files on the computer and a folder full of clippings!

    • I am in the same situation! My kitchen is overflowing with cook books and I also have my own folders with loads of clippings, printed recipes and recipes that have been shared.
