I won a holiday!!!

I call myself a hobby comper. Whilst at home and unemployed at age 20 I found I was getting disillusioned with so many rejections from jobs and needed to find an outlet as well as a way to pay the bills. A friend of mine showed me an online forum where I could find links to heaps of different competitions and surveys online. So I thought why not and started to enter. A few weeks later I won my first prize – a cd. Over the next few months I won some movie tix, beauty products, and even earnt myself a gift voucher. I was hooked! The next few years I earnt more vouchers, won cds, movie tix, small electronics and appliances and other things. I was able to enter even more after having my first son and being on bed rest for 12 weeks after a ceserean. Two years after my son was born I was in the supermarket and saw a promo on a bottle of cordial. I thought yeah we will drink that and it was an instant win to win thongs, t-shirts etc so I thought I’d have a chance to win one of the small prizes. About 2 weeks after I entered the comp I got a phone call from the company. The lady on the phone said congratulations you have one the weekly prize of a holiday to Queensland!!! I was so excited. Everything was paid for and I got spending money on top. It didn’t seem real at first until I got the information through the mail. Then I rang the travel agent who was organising the prize on behalf of the company simply told her what dates we wanted to go and next thing my husband, my son, my mum (as because it was a family holiday and my son was under 3 they paid for my mum to go as well – which was an added bonus) and I were off to Queensland. We had such a great time flights, buffet dinners, resort room and service, visiting theme parks, going on a cruise. It was an absolute blast. Since then I have won a couple of smaller 2-3 night holidays as well as the small things I was winning before. Next I’m going after to win a car which is the big prize I’ve always wanted but am yet to be that lucky 🙂

Congratulations an your win i also do competitions and surveys online i love it its my wind down time once all the kids are in bed and before i go to bed.
Ive won a few items like movie tickets, vouchers and have collected lots of gift vouchers from online surveys.

  I do the same. I’ve done a few surveys but mostly the ones that you get a small amount of money and it builds up over a long period of time until you get a voucher. I was wondering what surveys and sites are better?

Wow lucky you! I think the only thing I won that I was over the moon about was a Polaroid camera from ice but to win a holiday!! That’s crazy but congratulations on winning

I know that having the internet, and going in competitions on-line, has saved my sanity since I’ve been ill. It’s something to do when you’re not well enough to move from the lounge, and the thrill it gives if you’re lucky enough to win something has to be experienced to be appreciated. I think the best is when you don’t keep a track of what competitions you go in, and you either get an email or phone call to say you’ve won something, or even better, you get a parcel in the mail that you weren’t expecting. I’d love to win a car too, but a holiday would also be nice.

  Totally agree. It too has saved my sanity and is something I do to unwind and the added joy when you are not expecting it certainly has to be experienced to be understood.
