About one year ago my little world was turned upside down. My sister called and told me she couldn’t look after one of her beautiful little girls. My sister suffers from various mental issues and her husband can be aggressive. My husband and I already had 2 children of our our, 3 and 1. We didn’t hesitate to say that she could stay with us. She came for what was the most challenging 6 months of my life. She had come from a family with no boundaries to family with LOTS of boundaries. She struggled, we struggled but together we built a really strong family unit. She unfortunately went back to her parents. We miss her everyday and wish she’d been able to stay. Hopefully she’ll remember the 6 months and know that she was loved!

What a selfless act. There are not many people out there that would do what you did. I hope she remembers here time with you fondly and you hold a special place in her heart.

good on you guys for accepting her and bringing her into your loving home and family unit for 6 months. at least she knows that she can come back to you and know that she will be loved if she needs to
