Hello!

I came into hospital on Tuesday with lots of pain what I felt were contractions although never experienced it, I was admitted to hospital on the Thursday and in 2 days I had seen over 10 doctors who told me all sorts if things they pain could be!! Best one was it was all in my head another one was just ligament pain that occurred like contractions. They wanted to send me home without managing my pain but made sure baby was fine, after many arguments with these doctors it finally took a midwife to actually state I was having contractions 3 minutes apart 1min long on Friday 3.30 they started getting severe, again wasn’t good enough many tests many ctgs later and hours later they finally listened and I had my baby by emergency c section at 4.26am Saturday at 35 weeks, let me point out I was already booked in for a c section in July, my baby is now doing great has been taken off air an is now starting to feed but is in special care til further notice,

I don’t know what pissed me off more the fact that after so many doctors testing me it took a midwife to determine what was happening I am extremely disappointed in the public hospital system, they made me feel worthless like I was mental all for myself and one midwife to notice I was in labour, I could have lost my baby or my baby could have serious damage cuz of their stuff ups, so very angry and needed other mummies to be aware trust ur instincts and make a fuss until they listen to u and do something about ur situation
On behalf of the mothers that have also been thru bad experiences with hospitals I will be making a formula complaint. An will also be thankingn the midwives that have taken special care of my baby boy and myself.

  • I hope either you or somebody else lodged a formal complaint.
Hopefully no other Mother ever goes through what you did.

  • Oh that’s terrible, I can’t imagine how you must have felt. I’m so anxious about the whole labour process, hopefully nothing like this happens to me too. Glad all is well now though.

  • Oh yes, I lost track of the number of people – doctors and midwives – who told me I wasn’t in labour with my third. Except I was. I just fussed till finally the midwives got a doctor who took approximately two minutes to determine that I was in labour. Definitely believe your own instincts. It’s your body!
