Hello!

I sometimes feel like a bad mum, I just want some time to myself. I have a busy (chaotic, full of life) 2 and a half year old and a calm (so far) 5 month old. My husband is fantastic but sometimes I admit, I use the tv to give myself a break and I count down to 7pm. Don’t get me wrong, I love my family and I wouldn’t change it for the world, but sometimes I need a time out. I love my vivacious little girl and when she says “luv you mummy” it melts my heart, and I’m so proud of my baby boy who has just learnt to roll from his back to his tummy. I think to be a good mum, you need your own time and time to reflect!

  • We all need to take time out for ourselves!

  • Hey, having children doesn’t mean you stop being an individual person with your own needs and dreams….course you need time off! Not sure if the problem is that you can’t get the time off you need, but if that’s the case – I was just commenting to someone else that one trick is to hire a babysitter to come to your house to give you a few hours of headspace or ‘me time’. You can find someone cheap locally (even a student) and because you are home, there is less worry and you are still there if really needed for something. But you’ll get some time off and feel less guilty about needing some time to yourself.
