Im trying to start my own business on a very minimal knowledge and im doing it all correctly, I got an ABN, registered my business name and also got Public liability Insurance, I feel good, all I’m doing is selling at markets, renting a spot and selling a good product, something i believe in and like.

I got my ABN letter yesterday while someone was her and i was excited, super proud of all I’m trying to achieve, be an independent woman. anyway why do people always insist on saying the first thing they get into their head. My Friend straight away was like, “well done you now have a whole new load of hell to deal with” like I am so stupid I cant figure it all out and do something smart. I know it wasn’t malicious or even said out of jealousy or negativity more just a silly comment, I calmly explained that its not just a Fly in the night Business, this is the real McCoy for me and something I’m Passionate about, yes my finances are not great and im not making a fortune, i may only just cut even by the end of the year but I’m busy, I’m starting a new challenge and I’m hopefully teaching my girls that you need to grab the Bull by the Horns and take life and its journey as far as you can.

don’t worry! i bet that you will be fine. do what you love! be happy! maybe your friend thinks that it is a lot of effort but that is her, not you!

We are all different in this life. Some of us are the doers & some are the talkers & some are the complainers (I could go on here – there are others) not everyone gets it & that’s ok. You don’t always want them to, they have their own journey.

Try to read, watch & subscribe to what you don’t know or want to know more about. The big things like Tax & money, pay someone for the right advise but remember to use your skills to find the best 1 for you as not all are created equal!

Good on you for doing what you love and enjoy although my experience of dealing with ABN’s etc is hell. The business part was easy it was dealing with the tax office that was difficult for me

  I will hardly make anything anyway its more of a hobby so i guess i wont care as long as they don’t take every penny.

Good on you! My husband and I are nearing our first year in business and whilst it has been tough it has been very rewarding too (not particularly financially but we’re making ends meet). Wishing you lots of success

Do not be disappointed by your friend and her comment – ignore it – sometimes people can be sour. As long as you believe in what you are doing – go for it. Following a dream and a passion is a good thing. Best of luck to you!
