Hello!

I am getting really annoyed at persistent telemarketers! I am sure it isn’t just me but it seems that I soon as I get Little Miss down for a nap – which is no easy task – the phone rings. I look at the number and it is the same number that just keeps calling me. I’ve asked for them to not call again, I’ve asked to be taken off their list and still they call. It was starting to get me quite agitated so now when they ring and wake my daughter up I just hold the phone out so they can hear her crying. I then ask that they not call again and wake a sleeping baby. I also answer and when they ask for Mrs _ I say wait a second and let my two year old have a little chat. I then take the phone back and tell them that I’ve asked to be taken off the list and I don’t wish to receive further calls. Seems to be working as there were no calls today from them. Fingers crossed!

  • its like telemarketers have meetings about what time of the day is best to call people and annoy them mine always happen when we sit down to eat dinner.

  • If you have a Samsung mobile you can put that in the reject list under phone settings . I do that all the time and a lot of them are from interstate and the number comes up before I pick it up . Very handy !

  • I don’t have my home phone any more as the only people that rang were telesales

  • Telemarketers and people that harass you at the shopping centre! So exhausting! Especially when they do not want to take no for answer and follow you past shops! No!

  • this worked for me….call your home phone provider and get them to block the number

    • yep i think that they are so damn annoying. they only want to scam you and if you tell them to take your name off the list, they hang up on you

  • Even though we are on the do not call register, that can’t stop calls from overseas call centres. So annoying! Cooking or serving dinner seems to trigger calls at my place. Can’t tun my home phone off so have it on quietest setting. If I miss a call from family they call my mobile if it’s urgent.

  • They will continue, you have to register on line to get these calls stopped i have forgotten what it is called but after 1 month all calls will stop as I got told by a friend who is a police officer. Now no more calls.

  • I’m sick of the same calls too. I have asked them to take me off their list and then I get a call the next day from them again. I am on the register but it hasn’t made much difference. I just say, no thanks, and hang up.

  • Try putting your numbers on the do not call register. I think it’s donotcallregister.com or just google it. I did this it takes about 30 days and I haven’t had a call since after the 30 days. It’s free and only takes a few minutes. As I too was at the point of not answering the phone

  • We only had a landline connected a couple of months ago and the amount of calls we get is insane!! We were getting them the day after the phone was connected before I had even given our number to anyone. Its ridiculous

  • I’ve done that with my 3 year old. Just hand him the phone and let him jibber jabber. They haven’t called in a while. They were quite persistent and annoying for a while. Or I just pick up the phone and leave it. You could always take a whistle to the phone lol that works a treat too. :)

    • We used to have a whistle next to the phone but I was told that I would get in trouble for using it!
