Does anyone else feel the same in the sense that at the moment there is a load of claptrap on television? I don’t particularly watch a lot of television but I would certainly rather eat my own eye balls than watch The Bachelor or Jersey Shore or any of that rubbish. Out of interest because I wanted to understand the interest surrounding the show I watched an interview with the Batchelor Blake Garvey and Sam Frost – whom have recently broken up. Gee if I didn’t want to vomit a little bit in my mouth at the stupidity and insincerity- the poor bloke couldn’t even act! Still the best part of the whole clip was the send up the show The Project gave it. Think I will remain a movie buff for now and enjoy my docos etc. But hey that’s what makes us all different isn’t it- what one finds entertaining will bore another to tears.

  • I agree wholeheartedly…..I am sick to death of reality TV. The nation is turning into a load of Voyers. Haven’t people got enough going on in their own lives without having to watch someone elses!!

  • yeah that is what is happening. tv and movies have just become copies, of copies, of copies. not too much thought is getting injected into these things anymore. i hate to have to spend money on a dvd when the movie turns out boring. rental places are going broke and i just don’t really want to gamble with dvd’s. I took the kids to see the planes movie and for 4 tickets and some drinks and snacks, that was around $100.

  • It depends on the show and the topic; I like some and others I give a miss.

    • Cooking and DIY shows are interesting and educational; learning a new skill.

  • TV at the moment is crap. And its still rating session. the new shows that have been on have not lived up to expectations. Much prefer to watch reruns on Foxtel.

  • So true. There are a lot of shopping channels too.
I have found a way of using my time constructively: Listen to the news or the music played on radio. Then I watch documentaries, there is always something to learn.
Have you ever watched TV with the sound off? Its fascinating.

Another way is to listen to audiobooks while you are busy doing your chores or resting.
For those who can spare some time, trying getting large print books from the library, its so interesting to read those, no stress.

    • The audio book idea is a great one. I would love to do that while doing household chores, as at least I would have some entertainment.

  • Reality shows don’t interest me much either – I tend to buy certain (fiction) shows on DVD so I can watch them at my convenience.
