Sick Children - Real Mum story on MoM

I understand that parents need to work…I really do as I am one who needs to also but working as a Teacher, it drives me crazy when parents/carers send their children to kindy/school very sick.

Parents do not realise that they are indeed spreading their child’s sickness through the room including to the poor teacher. I am catching everything under the sun lately and it is costing me money as I cannot work.

I also understand it is hard when you cannot find anyone else to care for your child but please consider those other people you are affecting when you send your child to school or kindy when they are sick as a dog.

Please think of the poor teachers too..

this happened to my eldest. Got sick from preschool, then wasn’t allowed to go to preschool as he was sick! Duh! and I have to pay for that. That really annoys me when people don’t consider others and send their sick kids to school.

I agree I know it’s hard to find someone else to look after them but they won’t get better by sending then to school and then other poor kids will get sick!

That’s so true. If a child is sick, he has to stay home.

I feel for you as kids certainly spread germs easily. My grandkids have all had colds & flu symptoms this winter. Hope the doctor can get them back & kicking ASAP.

I also agree. I also don’t understand why people take their kids to swimming lessons when they are sick

Totally agree with you two of my kids have been sick over the last three weeks with at least one the whole time and not going to kinder. Thankfully she is on the mend but there are always signs up telling the parents to be on the look out for this illness or that illness due to kids attending while sick. I make sure i always call the school or kinder to tell them the kid will not be there and return them when well with a follow up with the teacher to make sure they were well that day they were returned and to ask for catch up homework if needed. Lucky for me i am a stay at home mum so im here for them.

I agree when kids are really sick, but it can be hard to tell sometimes.
