Skinny Body Wrap - Real Mum story on MoM

I answered a MoM Answer recently and it struck me that I had a story to tell. So here’s how it goes …

I was in Bali last October for a break staying with a girlfriend who emigrated there 20 years ago. Shes my best friend and geography never hinders our friendship. As you know time or distance never changes anything with good friends …you just pick up where you last last left off.

I wanted to loose a few kilos and so did she, so she booked us into a Spa that specialised in Herbal Body Wraps for weight loss.

Cut a long story short …We get there, book in, fill in forms, get weighed and undress. She gets Katut and I have Wayan, common Balinese names in birth order regardless of gender. Wayan is first born and Ketut 4th …Straight off I want a Wayan, she may know more than Ketut … but too late.

We are now in the music playing incense burning room stark naked. We’re chatting and giggling like schoolgirls and in walk two lovely little imps with pots of hot herbs and it reminds me of a scene from The Hobbit.

…We are to lie for an hour. Well that was the longest hour I have ever experienced, we were sure the clock on the wall was broken. We chat about everything and everyone to take our minds off the sweating and the girls pop in every ten minutes to give us a drink, more magazines that we can’t hold up and check we’re OK.

When the clock finally struck 2pm, in marched a team of girls to unwrap the wadding and measure and weigh us. Unbelievable, I lost just under 4 kilos and a total of 13 inches in all, my girfriend lost 2 kilos and 8 inches in measurements total. WOW, super impressed and felt wonderful.

My girlfriend now has a wrap monthly and has dropped a dress size. Pity I can’t, the prices in Australia for this is 4 times what it costs up there in Bali, however I’m saving my pennies for one here and I’m curious to see how Spas perform these treatments in Oz.

We are asked to stand up while they dust us with sweet smelling green herb mixture and two other girls walk in with bandages and plastic clothes. Then the wrapping starts from the feet upwards taking about 10 minutes. My girlfriend wants the wrapping up to her head saying she wants to loose weight off her neck … but I don’t!

With bandaging and laughter over we are put into plastic suits to the point where we cant move and Wayan and Ketut have to help us to lay down on beds. Sea shore sounds are playing in the background and we are straw fed lemon grass tea to hydrate. They disappear…. don’t GO.
