Hello!

Im a single mum of two beautiful kids, Master 16 and Miss 9. I thought being a single mum was hard enough until 2 weeks ago. Master 16 has a best friend of 5 years that has become like a family member. Well 2 weeks ago he turns up on my door step beside himself saying he cant go home. And what a Pandora’s box that has opened! His whole family (one of whom was my best friend and another was a good friend) have turned on not only him, but on me as well! Ive been verbally abused, physically assaulted, and made to feel like a poor mother and human being by these people for putting a roof over this boys head and feeding him without any expectation of help for doing so. I feel so tried and drained by the whole experience. Ive simply found myself at a loss for what to do next. Im trying to do for him what I would hope someone would do for my Master 16 if he left home and refused to return for whatever reason, and apparently that is a problem. Sorry to vent this out but I feel so frustrated as this has cost me friends, added stress to my household (that usually doesnt exist) and I feel sad and angry and confused and hurt. This last 2 weeks has tested every resolve I have and Im really starting to feel it. I just keep telling myself “This too shall pass”….. Escape to a warm tropical island with a good book far far away anyone? lol

  • It’s very difficult to get in the middle of a family dispute, but it’s important to try to help kids too. Sympathy.

  • This child obviously has a lot of respect for you & trusts you. I am curious to know how things have unfolded over the past year?

  • What a wonderful woman you are to be there with out question to this child. Instead of abusing you, the parents and family should be working with you to find a resolution. Stand your ground and know that you are doing and great job x

    • What a beautifully worded reply to a difficult problem.
