Hello!

Eliza, well done on finding a class at the gym and getting started, I hope you fall in love with it and keep making the effort to go, it is well worth it.

2 1/2 years ago I was and unfit Mum of 3 small kids when I won a 3 month gym membership (to a gym with no creche). I hadn’t been doing much exercise as I thought I was too busy, couldn’t fit it in around the kids etc etc. When the lady called to tell me I’d won I said I wasn’t sure how I’d fit it in and she bluntly said that if I was going to make excuses she’d just give the membership to someone else!

I worked my butt off at the gym for that time and then joined up for another 3 months. My husband was great, coming home early to look after the kids etc. After 6 months the gym closed and I joined another gym closer to home which does some serious, hard core training. I love it. I’m now 40kg lighter, can run and keep up with the 20 somethings in the classes and I’m strong.

I’m so glad the lady from the first gym gave me a wake up call, but at the end of the day it comes down to hard work, you only get out of it what you put in.

  • That’s it, you only get out what you put in, I think gym membership would be a waste of time for me, no motivation

  • I so need some motivation :( I’ve been so lazy. It’s so hard when you’re tired, loaded down with housework and things to do with/for the kids. And it’s SO cold!!!
