Its true that its easier to spend on card than handing over cash. I still use my card, but think twice before buying. It all adds up and sometimes we just don’t need all “the stuff”.

Mine are all cut up, just working at paying them off now.

My husband and I did this 5 years ago and have never looked back. There is no more overspending, our homeloan reducing and we put money away every week. We decided that we pay ourselves first every week (money into a savings account), it really has worked. So I know exactly what you are talking about, it is the best thing we ever did. We still buy things online but yes, we now have a Debit Mastercard. We are a lot better off now than 5 years ago.

what great advice!! Interest on credit cards is a massive killer aswell! I am in the process of paying mine off and once I have I will be getting rid of it, they are nothing but trouble
