I love MoM and I love everything on this site. I also love the competitions my lovely step mother (mum) sends me on Facebook and it feels like even though she is far away and working on an island that we are doing an activity together. It helps us feel connected if you like. As soon as I have my son in bed and the homework is done and regular things like washing etc I’m into my wind down screen time. Now by screen time I rarely ever watch television – in fact almost never. I keep abreast of current affairs through the internet. It’s gotten me to thinking – Is screen time going to be the next addiction? Is addiction to technology going to become a truly recognised thing like gambling now is with ads etc in the future? On this site we have already seen article upon article about screen time and technology for our children… But what about us? I find it a wonderful way to relax and enjoy everything technology has to offer, but mostly the communication on here. I can’t wait to get straight on my phone or laptop in the quiet moments when my son is in bed. I feel I get a lot of much needed support on MoM, but must confess I think I have a teeny weeny addiction lol.

  • For some reason, I can’t upload pictures from my phone to MoMs. I can from my iPad. Which doesn’t help if the picture is on my phone as I don’t know how to get them from my phone to my iPad. Lol. So much technology to make life easier….if only I could work it

  • I don’t see it as an addiction but a wonderful way to keep up with current affairs, world news, what the community is saying – I can travel all over the world in a matter of minutes, read books, share my views, research and chat with people half way around the world and just thoroughly enjoy myself.

    • I agree with you; this is a wonderful site for learning!

  • I don’t think it’s an addiction in your case – it is an escape although I do this it can be addictive

  • It is so great to have a forum to have questions answered, and when you need it, totally understand.

  • This site does tick all the boxes. And I love google who would have thought years ago that if we wanted an answer to a question or to spell a word all you had to do was ask Mr or Mrs Google.

    • I know what you mean. In our house, whenever there’s a question that we don’t know the answer to, we say “Go ask Dr Google”.

  • I use Mom to unwind and love the site and I love how it makes your Mum and your self closer. But as for most other technical things I am in the dark ages and ask Hubby

  • I choose to go online than sit in front of the TV any day! I’ve made many online friends over the years & here on MoM there is a lovely lot of Mums & Grandmums that we all enjoy ME time with!

    • Yes I totally agree there sure is on MoM :) I don’t really watch TV at all much, I would rather come on this site or online than watch TV. It has to be a really good program for me to sit and watch. A friend of mine made me suffer through watching Jordie Shore. I would rather eat my own eye balls than watch another episode – what a load of tripe lol!

I love reading all the stories, but mu hubby has said to me once or twice, will you ever stop on that site or limit yourself.
    Lol er no sorry.

  • Like everything, social media and the Internet in general can be good or bad. Moderation in all things, I say….

  • MoM site is indeed wonderful, and has saved my sanity over the past few months since I’ve been ill. Whether it’s technology, reading books, craft, cooking, whatever you do for a bit of “down” or “me” time, as long as it’s balanced with the rest of the things in your life, it’s fine. And knowing there’s so much support from the MoM community, well, I really think that it’s an addiction that’s good to have.

    • Yes I guess we all have our own down time activities whatever it is.
