Lease signed, notice given, utilities arranged, now all I have to do is………………………PACK!
I hate packing.
The worst move I ever did was thee days on public transport – back and forth repeatedly.
By the time I finished I did not know where anything was, and it tooks weeks to get it all sorted
The next time, I carefully wrote out on a notepad what was in each box and sticky taped it to the lid.
I came home to find him sitting on the couch with all the bits of paper pulled off the boxes , as he wanted to see what we owned.
That took weeks to sort out.
This time I am tempted to chuck a match in and buy new stuff!

Packing and unpacking is a nightmare but after a few moves you do get use to it and get more organized!

I write on the boxes with permanent marker, that can’t get pulled off. But I get bored after a while and end up throwing random stuff in random boxes. So some boxes are full of crap and labelling is pointless :/

Ha ha you poor thing, I don’t like moving either, here’s and idea, number the boxes and on note pad or even your computer or phone, list the number of box and what is in it, so when you get to the other end, you know where everything is (or what’s in the boxes)

I agree, packing and then unpacking is such a pain. Worse still, when you can’t find something in your new place but know exactly where you kept ii in the old place. Good luck, hope its easier this time.

You are an expert packer after all that, I’m sure! I think unpacking and organising stuff in different cupboards etc is actually worse so I would do what catgrrl3 suggested about having the list on computer if I move. My daughter has moved so many times. The worst one was when on the night of the day she moved, her second baby decided to arrive. I tried to unpack basic kitchen and laundry stuff but I didn’t know if she would find her stuff so ended up leaving post-it notes on cupboard doors . Take a deep breath and start packing. You’ll be great!

I found it easiest to label the boxes, with a room and a number, and have my list on the computer, so I know what is in each box, and saves me in case the pages got torn off when moving.
