Have you travelled overseas with children.

If so where did you go and how old were they.

What was the experience like?

  • we traveled to asia when bub was 8 month old. i think choosing the midnight flight to fly was the worst decision as bub did not want to sleep at all, and was all cranky on the flight!

  • Yes, over seas at 2 years old, then 6, 8 and 10, 12. New Zealand, Hawaii, America, Canada, Mexico. We did the Disneyland thing a few times, Universal Studios, cruises, all the touristy stuff, had a great time every time.

  • I’ve travelled from adelaide to the uk 4 times now with kids first time they were 9, 6 & 5 the kids were great we mainly flew in the night so they did sleep for quite a bit of it.
When they were awake they would just sit and watch the TV screens or play the games.
I think your be surprised at how well behaved kids actually can be on long haul flights.

  • Yep, Thailand when my son was 15 months, New Zealand when my son was 5/6 (he turned 6 over there) and my daughter 3, and Malaysia/Singapore/Thailand in May this year when my son was 7 and my daughter 5. It’s certainly different to holidaying without kids but you do different things. You see things through the children’s eyes so its a whole new experience. Go somewhere where they have a kids club and you will get some time to yourself. It’s great experiencing the different cultures with the children. Definitely not relaxing though!!
