Hello!

I have always been a bigger person. IT started when i was 13 and started rapidly gaining weight for no apparent reason. 15 years later i found out i had POS which was a cause of the weight gain. So apart from all the other symptoms of POS the weight was the worst for me. I hardly ate but yet gained and gained until i was 120kg at age 22. I became a recluse and hardly ever left the house. I was so ashamed of myself.

For years i struggled going up and down, trying fad diets to just eating nothing at all for days. Years and years later i met my now husband. I had lost alot of weight due to partying hard and never eating. I was a size 14 and the smallest i had been since i was a teenager, i also felt way more confident than i ever had! But because i had lost weight the wrong way and never learnt to eat right as soon as our relationship bloomed so did my weight.

Once again a year later i found myself at almost 100kgs. By this stage we had moved in together but i was not happy with myself and felt like he would leave me to find someone better. This time i went to the doctors to see if there was anything they could do. It turns out i was on the cusp of diabetes!! The doctor put me on Ant-Depressants and a drug which was to help me avoid developing diabetes. I did feel a bit better for a while there and was gradually loosing weight. Then i found out i was pregnant!! It turns out the drug they gave me for the diabetes also helps ladies with POS to get pregnant. Woops!

After my son was born i started weight watchers online. I found since i was home everyday with him and he was a baby that slept alot i had time to control and sort out my eating. I learnt through weight watchers about healthy foods, fats and oils and other things. I ended up loosing all my baby weight and more!! I was now down to 75kgs i was soooo happy! Belive me though it was really hard work to get there and took about a year.

Soon after that an opportunity came up which would allow me to work from home and build my own business. I went with it full steam ahead. I was constantly so busy all the time with clients and paperwork and my son that i forgot all about the weight watchers diet and just started eating whatever i could shove in my mouth in the 5 seconds spare i got through the day. Routines went out the door, my son started acting up and my weight ballooned! This time i was just so fed up i didn’t care. I gave up on looking after myself and just focused on my son and my business.. 2 years later and i was well over 100lgs again… And this is where my new journey begins…

Business has slowed. My son is nearly 4 and alot mor independent so it is once again time to look after ME… Wish me luck on my new weightloss journey and lets hope this time it stays gone..

Thanks for reading!~

  • weight gain is normal from POS as I have it and so does my daughter. I was put metformin as I was overly producing insulin and my body did not use it but stored it instead and I am sure my GP told me you only ever produce a limited amount of insulin to last a life time so I and my daughter will end up diabectic. also have your thyroid checked for any things abnormal .as my body ate mine and I have been on thyroid since I was 20 as mine is under active.
I hope you do great with your weight loss and am doing something for your self good on you

  • Goodluck <3 I have never been in the situation but have watched my mum and a close friend struggle with weight, it is very hard but set small achievable goals and you will surely get there in the end, eat healthy and regular excercise is the best way :)

  • Congratulations on starting your journey again many just give up all together and don’t have the fight to start over as all they see is failure.
I have also been a weight loss journey and i found your quick trim shakes really helped me i have one for breakfast and i make homemade soup for lunch (also make a big batch up to freeze) then a normal dinner.
I try and walk for 4kms a day which is just around the block for me once i was walking it for a while i started to jog for 5 minutes then just increasing it all the time.

Good luck in your new journey just remember to take things slowly and don’t rush but the big thing is remember you have to eat 3 times a day.
