  • You are actually lucky they don’t wake during the night at all. At that age they develop a very vivid imagination and sometimes may have night terrors. Our 3 y.o. occasionally sneaks in during the night ans sleeps on the end of our bed in Summer or crawls in next to me and I find him there when I wake up. He is very gentle, I sleep pretty well and don’t feel him get up on the bed.

  • Sleep ins just dont happen, if they do for me i usually worry the kids are sick. My kids are up at about 6.30 every morning. they are 7,5, and 3.
But to raise 2 great kids on your own congratulations.

  • I dont have much advise but you should be so proud of yourself to raise those twins as a single mum!

  • I come from a family with 2 sets of twins, lots of fun:) I’ve only ever had my 11 month old sleep in once and that’s because I kept breastfeeding him when he stirred… But try having them in bed with you for the morning? Although it could be too exciting to enduce more sleep!
I don’t know where you live but in Canberra there’s heaps of people with au pairs (there’s a fb group). You could hire one overnight to do the early morning shift. You can get recommendations from other mums who use them. They usually live in with a family so you’d he borrowing their au pair for a night :)
    You are one amazing mum.

  • I agree! Kids will only sleep as long as they need. Maybe make sure there is no napping in the day?

  • if only there was a little trick i think its because of winter and the cold weather

  • I don’t think you can change it. My 2.5 year old wakes at 7 and always has

  • all my kids who are 2,5,and 6 are up about 6.30 am and thats a sleep in for them. With my son i did buy this little clock which had stars on a blue screen when you are meant to be sleeping and when you are allowed up the sun appears on the screen and it changes to yellow. It didnt work for him but might for the twins. I would start by setting at the timr they usually get up and change the wakeup time by 15 minutes each week, so they dont notice a huge difference in wake up time….. Goodluck

  • I am so jealous. One of my twins died at birth and I’d give anything to have him waking me up at dawn.

And I’m afraid all my surviving kids are up early, no matter what, so I can’t help you anyway.

    • oh bella. that is so sad. i have had a miscarriage but that must be SOOO heartbreaking to get to see your child fully born. i am sorry for your loss.
