We have a family party at a park – usually for morning or afternoon tea to keep it simple. Finger food like fruit platters, dips and cheese and crackers, and a cake. The kids are happy to play and it’s relaxing for the adults too. Once they get to school age there can be more pressure – inviting children from school = bigger parties, so I like to keep it pretty simple for their first 4 or 5 bithdays.

Everyone is different but for my daughter’s birthday birthday i just invited family and all my kids cousins and they had a ball

My daughter had 3 little friends over and had a princess theme. Kept it simple with a fruit platter, fairy bread and popcorn. I cut tiaras out of cardboard and they decorated them with stickers and glitter pens.
