Hello!

So we’ve had the first few colder days of Autumn and already I’m hibernating like it’s late July! I hate winter, every year it’s the same. All I want to do it stay in my trackies (pyjama’s would be better) and just hang at home reading books or stay on the computer eating crap all day! Well i guess it’s not what I WANT to do. But going outside is really not attractive to me either. I feel like I’m a completely different person in the warmer months. Time to start supping with vitamin D I think. And maybe I’ll just have to rug up and brave the cool air if I’m to get through another 3 months of this!

  • I personally like the cooler weather but my hubby loves to stoke the fire as soon as the mercury falls below 15C so I have to go outside to cool down during winter around our place! lol

  • I don’t like it either. Very hard to wear out a toddler in winter

    • The local play cafe is my favourite place to hang out now! I enjoy a hot coffee and read a novel while DS3 runs and runs!

  • While I prefer summer to winter, I do like the thought of staying cosy inside and reading a good book. its also far more attractive if its a weekend and you don’t have to get up early and brave the cold in the morning!

  • Nothing wrong with keeping warm inside… don’t forget all the indoor warm public places too for a change of scene – galleries, museums, shops, swimming pools (yes they can be warm!), libraries – and maybe some sunshine of the way

  • Oh yes. I really hate winter and the cold.

  • I hear ya. I am at home with a 2 month old and just want to stay in the warm house all day. Out of the blue my hubby suggested we go camping… I don’t think I could stand the cold (let alone the worry of keeping a newborn warm!).

  • It was definitely cold last night but you rug up and keep warm! Loving my PJ’s and ugg boots this time of the year!

  • I have one fear of cold wet weather. Having a friend who works at a Crash Repair they see a lot more damaged cars. People don’t drive to the weather conditions and leave more space between vehicles. Some think they are invincible and drive faster, not slower. If you live in a quiet local street you tend to know which cars go along the streets a lot faster.
One advantage is if you are cold you can add extra layers of clothes and remove some as you warm up. Sometimes the wind chill is colder than the actual temperature. Outisde but in a sheltered area is often warmer than out in open space.

  • The cooler weather kinda hit us in the face this year! We were cruising through Autumn with temps still in the 20s. Now….it’s snow on the mountain! I gave to admit, I actually prefer winter to summer. I like it when it’s wet outside and I can sit by the fire, not go anywhere. I also like getting out in the cold and doing stuff

    • I love an open fire too and snuggling on a couch with a cuppa and a good book – absolute bliss!

  • I understand you. I love warm weather too. Today there is such a beautiful sun here! It looks like spring! But, even when it’s cold, I oblige myself to go walking every morning with the dog for half an hour. At least that. Rain or shine, I’m out. But coming back home and wear comfortable clothes, it’s so nice!!! Then I prepare me a warm cup of herbal tea and I try to forget how cold it’s outside!!! :-)

  • That’s a shame! I LOVE winter and being outdoors in the cooler moths – so much to do and see and so great for long walks (with or without kids and dogs). Just spent 3 hours in the garden this morning!

    • I wholeheartedly agree with you. Love the cooler months, getting out and about without sweating!
