Oh dear! Mothers Day has got off to a tearful start! My youngest is so upset as her and her sister picked out the same gift from the school’s mothers day stall. And to add to her distress, it’s not quite the present she thought it was! They both picked out recipe books but, they are they blank ones that you add your own recipes too. Oh the poor little darling, they day is turning out as she had planned!

  • Aww poor thing! Nothing worse than your kids feeling awful about something. Hope she cheered up!

  • Oh the fun you will all have collecting recipes together

  • So cute, but you can now all put your Fav recipes in them and when the kids are good they can choose the one they can help you cook.

  • Give her some old magazines that she can go through. So she can find recipes that you two can make together They don’t have to hard.

  • Awww how sad for them. They tend to over think things like this and think the worst.
My son grabbed measuring spoons from the stall at school, thinking they were just spoons shaped as love hearts, He was so disappointed and hates the gift he got me. I tried to make him feel better but it didnt help.
Worse thing is we have now 3 sets of them lol

    • I’ve got those same measuring spoons!

  • Aw the poor thing. I am sure you made a massive deal about how many wonderful recipes you have in mind that you can write for safe keeping and what a wonderful gift! Especially since your 2 children know you so well that they picked just what you wanted!

  • Wonderful replies from moms as usual. :-)
Also you could tell them that this mom site has that many wonderful recipes you need two books to write out your favs.
Hope you had a wonderful day and wishing you and the other mom members a glorious night. :-)

    • Hope you had a wonderful day and night CHERZ! :)

  • Perfect project as you can fill up the books, together with your own wonderful creations! :)

  • Maybe you could suggest you use one book for savoury recipes and one for sweet?

  • You can make a cookbook for each child, and pass on all their favourite recipes for when they are old enough to cook for themselves…

  • Poor little things! I can imagine their disappointment. May be if you tell them you will put yummy baking recipes in one and yummy dinner recipes in the other it will ease the disappointment. How sweet.
