A quick and easy meal that my children love

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 loaf bread
  • 500g grated cheese
  • 500g bacon pieces
  • 2 eggs
  • to taste salt and peper
  • to taste mixed herbs
  • butter To butter one side of the bread

Method

  1. mix the cheese, bacon pieces, salt and pepper, mixed herbs and egg in a big bowl
  2. Toast one side of the bread, once that is done butter the other side and place on the mixture to all corners
  3. bake in a moderate oven until the mixture is golden brown. Delicious! You can also add other things to the mixture like onion and tomatoes etc but you will need to add another egg and maybe some more cheese

Notes

You can also add other things to the mixture like onion and tomatoes etc but you will need to add another egg and maybe some more cheese. Anything you would like to add should be fine

  • The title drew me in, at our house we call it savoury toast, this mix is really good to put on saveloys after they are cooked and under the grill till melted
