New to our contributor list is blogger Sam Cardone from Bad Mumma and we wanted to introduce her to you in a quick 2 minutes!

1.     What made you start your blog Bad Mumma?

As a mum, each day brings different challenges. Celebrating these challenges and learning to laugh at my mistakes helped me stay sane through such times. The day I decided to start Bad Mumma I was actually having a play date with 5 other young mums. We all sat around laughing hysterically at each other’s stories of mummy misadventure, I said, “Someone should write a book about all this! This is the stuff people need to know.” Then one of the girls said – “you should write a blog!”

That night I found myself registering bad-mumma.com.au!

2.     What is the most challenging thing about being a working Mum?

The hardest part of being a working mum is finding balance and avoiding the nasty G word- Guilt! Once I put that ridiculous and unproductive emotion behind me things got a lot easier. With twins now only a few weeks away I think the ‘balancing act’ is set to get harder! I’m lucky my work is very flexible so I can choose when, where and how I work- thus I can still put my kids needs first. I’m very grateful to have such a luxury.

3.     What was the most surprising part of becoming a parent?

When you become a parent you find strength that you never imagined you had. You also find that you are capable of love in ways that you never thought possible. This is truly amazing.

4.     You are the ambassador for Mimijumi, when did you introduce Mimijumi to your daily routine?

I didn’t have an easy time with breast feeding and thus I began expressing and feeding my son the expressed milk using the Mimijumi bottles when he was only a few weeks old. I choose to use mimijumi bottles as I wanted the most natural bottles that would be closest to the breastfeeding experience. They were a godsend. Once I started my son on the bottles I never looked back. It was such a simple solution to what had seemed like a huge problem.

5.     Why do you love Mimijumi?

I love Mimijumi bottles because they are so well designed. They really make feeding easier for mums and bubs and the continuity with breastfeeding means that mums have choices. The fact that they are adorable doesn’t hurt either! (Finally – cute bottles!)

  • The secret is to find the right balance between all aspects of your life and identify the priorities in your life. Everyone is human and makes mistakes but when you can learn from them, and laugh at them, then you enable yourself to truly shine!
