If you have been umming and arring about whether to enrol your child in a team activity or sport, then check out these great benefits of your child getting involved in a team environment!

  1. Practice working as a team
Working in a team is crucial in life, and children who actively engage in team environments will have a better understanding of team dynamics. They will better develop their conflict resolution skills, leadership abilities and a host of other valuable skills. There is no job where people work by themselves, and having been in a team environment will give your child an edge.
  2. Ego Check
Working in a team is a good way for children to learn to leave their ego at the door, and work with other people of varying skill levels to achieve a task or goal. Children who are isolated and don’t work in a team can develop overinflated egos and believe themselves to be superior in skill to others. Working in a team forces them to properly evaluate their skillset and contribute meaningfully to the environment.
  3. Expand their social Horizons
Playing a team sport or activity gives children the ability to expand the type and amount of friends that they may have. It enables them to be exposed to different social groups, making them a well-rounded and more tolerant human being in the long run.
  4. It’s just so much fun!
Kids love to run around, it’s just the way they are. Playing team sport in particular gives them the opportunity to have some fun three days a week, and hang out with their friends!
