Hello!

Almonds are packed with vitamins, minerals, protein, and fibre, and are associated with a number of health benefits, which is why we’re excited to share these almond recipes with you!

I always like to keep a stash of almonds handy wherever I am; in my bag (either the little snack sized boxes you can buy at the supermarket) or a handful in a ziplock bag.  If I forget breakfast, a small handful keeps me going and if I’m out and about and peckish, a few almonds will stave off my desire for a naughty treat with my coffee!

My kids are also quite happy to nibble away on a few almonds.  Obviously not at school but they’re always very happy to raid my stash on the way to/from sport, dance, swimming or when they’re coming home from a surf and they’re ‘starving’!

This week, we’re excited to have 3 Almond Recipes that will absolutely satisfy everyone … big love to Australian Almonds and the team at The Biting Truth for sharing.

I think there’s nothing better to have on hand at home for coffee, friends dropping over, afternoon tea for the kids or even sliced up on top of a Banana Bread & Butter Pudding than a loaf of homemade banana bread.  Even better when it’s filled and topped with the crunch and goodness of Australian Almonds. This will freeze beautifully – I recommend slicing up the loaf and placing a small sheet of baking paper between each slice so you can remove one slice at a time.  Or you could pack one or two slices in a small ziplock bag – then you just grab and go.
Here’s the Recipe for BANANA AND ALMOND BREAD.  Enjoy!

  • The almond and banana bread sound yummy. Almonds aren’t something I cook with often. I usually just have them as a snack as they are.

    • Almonds are so good for adding to recipes – almonds and walnuts are nuts I often add to recipes.

  • I love replacing white flour with almond meal in my chocolate cakes! Or brownies!

    • If you use the right chocolate (yes some do have wheat in them and some also have orange in them) with the almond meal you have a gluten free version of the recipe for those who have Coelic Disease or are allergic to wheat.
