Something magical and fun, minimal cost, and a lot of bonding!

Material

  • 1 T-shirt
  • As needed Iron-on appliqués
  • 1 Iron
  • 1 Ironing board or towel

Method

  1. Take your child to a store and choose out a cute little T-shirt that is plain, and a colour they love. For me obviously my little Princess likes pink!
  2. Art and craft and haberdashery stores will have the appliqués. You can let your childs imagination go wild by allowing them to select their favourite characters or letterings that you will iron on when you get home. We chose MoM lettering and a cute cartoon image.
  3. Lay out the ironing board or towel at home, place the t-shirt on top and then get your little helper to show you how they want to have the letters or design laid out before mummy irons on.
  4. Now you iron-on the appliqués.
  5. When finished show your child and you have together created a heirloom and fun piece of clothing that is very personalised.

Notes

I made this today with my daughter Charlotte as I plan on doing some fun MoM reviews with her in the photos. So as a fun thing I thought why not and she chose the picture. I also made a similar themed picnic rug but using my initials, hubbys and my little girls, and soon we will need to add to that as I am expecting a baby in 2015. Its very adaptable, I hope you all enjoy this.

We also did a lot of drawing on t-shirts with textile markers. I actually did that once for a birthday party. All kids got to decorate their own shirt, which they loved !
