no cook playdough, ready in minutes.

Material

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp cream of tartar
  • 375mL boiling water
  • food colouring of choice

Method

  1. Add dry ingredients to a bowl. Slowly add in water 1/2 a cup at a time. Mix using a wooden spoon as at this stage it is very hot.
  2. Once all water is added or playdough has formed good consistency, add you food colouring.
  3. Carefully once playdough has cooled slightly, start mixing by hand. This will work in the colour. Turn it onto a lightly floured surface if you need to. You should end up with a nice soft playdough.

Notes

store in an airtight container to maintain playdough for a length of time.

  • No stove top involved, I’m liking this. Still has hot water added, but no standing over a hot stove

  • Smart way to make something to keep the kids occupied. If it’s not a silly question, would it have to be kept in the fridge, in case it went off?
