  • Rest! Accept help when it is offered and try to rest whenever possible. Parenting is exhausting and you cope a lot better when you are a little less sleep deprived.

  • Anything is better than nothing and no one knows what they’re doing! Please don’t compare yourself to other mums.

  • My best advice is that pretty much nothing goes smoothly or according to plan, so just go with the flow. Dont be afraid to be silly and don’t worry about time schedules for the first little bit because they mean nothing to a new born.

  • Be patient and just say yes ok sure when people give you advice. You do what you think is best for your baby.

  • If you are breastfeeding do as much research as you can. Breastfeeding is one of the hardest things you will do so be over prepared. This will ensure you can actually enjoy your newborn when they come along.

  • Don’t put yourself under so much pressure! Comparing our babies to others, keeping the house spotless etc can be such stressful tasks to a new mum on top of learning how to be a mum. Go with the flow, enjoy the snuggles and live in the bubble while it lasts.

  • You don’t want your epitath to say you were the world’s best housewife. I would rather be known as the world’s best mum. Children are only little for a very short time. Love them and enjoy them while you can. Plenty of time to be house proud when they’re grown.

  • Take all advice with a grain of salt. Every baby is so unique that there is no magic cure. We’re due with our second and we can’t wait to see the different challenges this bub holds.

  • Be flexible and just go with your gut and go with the flow. Don’t get caught up on the impossible.

  • Trust your instincts and your body too,
The expert in your baby is YOU!
Although everyone’s just trying to be nice,
Don’t feel like you must take their advice.
You’ll be a great mum, you’ll figure it out,
But ask for help if you’re ever in doubt!

  • Get an anti-burst gym ball – it’ll save your sanity

  • dont sweat the small stuff and im here if u need help or an ear to scream at

  • To be prepared to be up all night, tired and feel like your crazy but it’s completely normal and hot doing wonderful!

  • My best advice is to enjoy it! Enjoy the good, the bad and the ugly because before you know it your baby is all grown up

  • Be patient. It will be hard and stressful, but please keep in mind how much you love your baby at all times.

  • Always take time out for yourself & prioritise your mental health needs first!

  • Go easy on the dairy when you first start to breastfeed – some babies are dairy intolerant as I learnt the hard way and go easy on yourself. You are doing the best you can girl give yourself some credit ????????

  • Best advice, do not be afraid to ask for help. WE are all human and each baby comes with it own challenges….

  • Don’t be afraid to admit you aren’t coping, you dont have it all together, and make sure you ask for help when you feel like this. We’ve all been there, we know what its like

  • Know that when you become a mum you are blessed and if you don’t get much sleep or shower or just feel defeated that you are doing your best and the world can wait be in the moment with your new little one and it’s ok to ask for help
