The wonderful, welcoming, adoring people within, the loving friends and family who visit, the personal ‘treasures’ scattered through-out, the “lived in ” feeling with that dash of happiness radiating through. Definitely a home not just a house.

My 12 year old daughter had just got a double bed for Christmas and has a new duvet and would love to put some more things in her room. Winning a $50.00 voucher from a grabe and nix store would help us to do this.

Whaat makes my house a home is the people in it and seeing them enjoying themselves – this is enhanced by beautiful surroundings especially furnishings and decorating with help by Gabe & Nix for a design challenged person like me.

Children’s toys clumsily packed in their toy boxes, clothes pushed under the end of their beds (because Mum’s can’t see under there), picture frames and throw cushions, a floor needing a mop an hour after it was clean, laughter and noise, plant cuttings cluttering the kitchen window sill, and artwork all over the fridge.

The fact that I can have matching and color co-ordinated homewares. I am sick of my mishmashed collection.

Splashes of colour mean I’m at home.
Bright, warm, friendly, never alone.
Yellow in shades of butter to sun
Turquoise or teal to keep it fun.
Base of crisp grey and white
feels fresh, happy and bright.

Family and our pets.

My sons trainers at the door,
His soccer ball on the floor,
The dog sleeping on the couch
And I\’m a 6 am grouch.
I look all around me
And these signs of my family
Remind me this isn\’t just my house
It\’s our home.

The people living in the house make it a home with the added touches of each individual making it a whole.

The feeling of comfort that I can feel as soon as I walk through the door. The people that fill my home with happiness. The beautiful surroundings that proudly display who we are.

From the pictures, above; Gabe & Nix creations look truly romantic, and exotic. Now, although we don’t live by the seaside; our House, in Ingleburn, NSW, has always been a place to daydream, with imaginings of all sorts of things outside the window. A place, to go with the flow!!!

The sound of placing my keys delicately on my cute little vintage hall table when I get home definitely informs my weary body that I’m home. This phenomenon then energises me for home time!
