We’re giving 5 lucky mums the chance to WIN an Oates Cleaning Kit valued over $100 these school holidays.

Having the kids home during the school holidays is a combination of never ending chaos and mess. It’s no wonder as parents we’re all counting down the days until school is back!

What we love about Oates is that they help us #LaughAtTheMess by helping keep on top of the mess and mayhem, without putting the brakes on the fun. Oates products are reliable and affordable making them the perfect companion for every Australian household.

If you’re cringing at the slime all over the table or the flour from the morning pancakes all over the kitchen counter, Oates Microfibre Cloths will become your best friend these school holidays. Reviewers trialed the Oates Microfibre Cloths in 2023, and rated them an amazing 4.83 out of 5 stars (see what mums had to say here)! The cloths are durable, super absorbent and are an easy and affordable way to tackle any mess around the home. When dirty, simply pop them into the washing machine for continued use.

If the kids have spilled a drink on the floor, or brought in mud from outside, the Oates Spin & Clean Compact Mop & Bucket Set can be whipped out to tackle the mess quickly and easily. MoM reviewers tried and loved this Mop, rating it 4.6 out of 5 stars! Reviewers loved that it was fast, easy and thorough – it truly is the ultimate mop to have in your holiday mess kit (read the MoM reviews for the Spin & Clean here).

  • I use plastic drop sheets over tables – when you are finish craft -just roll up and dispose of.

  • Messy and fun, absolutely love it in school holidays, making a big chocolate cake, icing over sticky fingers and faces, and crumbs in floor, bucket, warm water and white vinegar and mop, cleaned in no time

  • I still have my grandmother’s plastic tablecloths (seat at least 12 people). They’re tough and are perfect for placing underneath most school holiday activities and then the kids help scrape them off and stomp on them in the bathtub until they are ready to be hung out to dry!

  • Glitter – good broom! Paint on walls – Jif + microfibre cloth. Plus lots of patience & water!

  • While the kids are away I would love to clean my home with new products.

  • Do it outside on the grass,
    The fun can then last!
    No panic of the mess,
Washing anything in – is the best!
Then into the pool or shower after it,
Certainly makes messy play a hit.

  • Always put newspaper down when doing any crafts to avoid damage to furniture and make clean up time easy.

  • My cleaning tip is to take them to grandma’s house. 😀 😀 😀 Just kidding!

  • We had an old paddling pool so blew up one ring of it and put the Lego inside. Worked so well and my feet were very happy! Messy art we use big plastic drop sheets.

  • My grand children love to draw with chalk on our concrete driveway. They can be as artistic or messy as they like with no cleaning required. The rain takes care if that!

  • I would use glue tac to pick up tbe glitter

  • Take Arts & Crafts outside, the kids can make as much mess as they want and then i can just hose it off after

  • For messy school holiday activities, like arts and crafts, keep wipes handy for quick cleanups. Lay down disposable tablecloths to catch spills and use old newspapers for painting. Designate a cleanup time at the end of each day to involve kids, making tidying a fun part of the activity.

  • Let creativity flow by designating a specific art zone with washable surfaces, a plastic mat on the floor, art smock & clear of anything you don’t want dirty! When the masterpiece is complete, cleaning becomes a breeze!

  • Cleaning is a chore
    Sometimes a bore
    Give one kid a cloth
    Another a mop
    Suddenly suds galore!

    The shower is the best
    We tackle it when wet
    Making pictures on the glass
    Blowing raspberries, a blast
It’s cleanest when we make a bet.

  • Tips: do the messiest activities outdoors where you can simply hose off the patio…and the kids!

  • Hand held vacuums without the cords!

  • Putting down some plastic sheeting or newspaper. We have wooden floors so I don’t mind if we make a bit of mess, because where’s the fun in it if we don’t?! As long as everyone helps out in the cleaning up department.

  • My kids love to help me clean up and tidy around the house, it makes them feel proud and independent and winning the Oates Cleaning Kit would make it feel super special.

  • Team work- it isnt mums job to clean. We all use, we all clean.
