Ingredients (makes 10 )

  • 10 brioche slider buns
  • 10 slices of tomato
  • Lettuce of your choice
  • For the Kofta Patties
  • 500g lamb mince
  • 1/2 onion peeled
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbs fresh parsley
  • 3 tbs fresh mint
  • 1 tsp salt, pepper, sumac and allspice
  • For the Sumac Yoghurt
  • 3/4 cup greek yoghurt
  • 1/2 tsp fresh garlic crushed
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp sumac, adjust to suit taste
  • Salt and pepper to season

Method

  1. To make the sumac yoghurt combine all ingredients in a bowl, stir together well, season with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate.
  2. In a blender combine the onion, garlic, parsley, mint, salt, pepper, sumac and allspice. Blitz for 10-20 seconds to chop and combine all ingredients. It should be a little chunky, not a paste.
  3. In a bowl place the lamb mince and the contents from the blender. Using your hands, combine well.
  4. Shape into 10 slider patties and place onto a plate. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to a few hours to firm up the patties. The longer the patties refrigerate, the more the flavour develops.
  5. Heat a nonstick frypan over medium high heat and add a little olive oil. Pan fry for around 4 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
  6. To assemble place lettuce and tomato onto the base of the slider bun. Top with a cooked kofta patty, a dollop of sumac yoghurt and finish with the top of the slider bun.

  • I do love the lamb koftas but I am also a fan of a other tasty and savoury sliders. A platter of sliders with a variety of different meats is always such a tasty and terrific treat. It also gives everyone the opportunity to choose their favourite meat slider to eat.

  • Sliders are most definitely the most terrific food to make and to eat on the weekends, They are good for when people come over for get togethers because they are tasty and such good finger food. They are easy to cook and also go down a treat. This recipe sounds delicious and lamb kofta sliders will be on the menu.

  • This one definitely catches my eye when scrolling down the page. Looks yum. It’s super hard to find easy recipes like this one that looks so good. Although I find that I might need lots of ingredients that I don’t usually have at home if I want to try it out. Thank you for sharing!

  • TFhanks for this recipe. I am trying to find more recipes using Greek yoghurt and this sounds like a must try. I also don’t use lamb mince very much so this will be a good opportunity to try something new. The children like Kofta but I usually purchase ready made for them.

  • These look adorable in their mini-me/cute size!
Lamb koftas are yummy when these mediterranean spices are used/added in.
majority of the ingredients already on hand at home in pantry/fridge/freezer.
parsley and mint in the garden – love freshly picked homegrown herbs!
just need to purchase the sumac/all spice from the local spice shop

  • This recipe sounds really great, and I love that one’s hands don’t need to get dirty. I would be making these patties and freezing them for later use as this is a one-person household these days and it is hard to find recipes for just one, but this would work very well as the frozen patties would easily cook up later.

  • These look delicious, I’d be so keen to recreate for my kids but burgers and sliders are in my husband’s purview so might have to shoot him a sneaky link to this recipe as a hint! Might even suggest he tries it with a couple different meats to make sure we cover the pickier eaters in the family

  • These are so cute! Although, I am not overly sure where I would be able to buy slider buns. Ones I have seen at the supermarket all seem to be larger size. Anything with lamb though and I’m in! I love that it uses a nice yoghurt instead of tzatiki, which I hate!

  • This recipe looks delicious however I am not a huge fan of lamb. I wonder if I replaced it with another type of meat it would taste as good. It also has a lot of ingredients so wouldn’t be something I could just whip up, I would need to shop first.

  • Delish recipe! I made something with similar flavours tonight, Arayas in Lebanese bread. And I had my trusty Ansell gloves, allspice and lamb is lovely but not when the smell is stuck on your hands! I’ll have to give this a go, it’s definitely something I’d love and sounds like a perfect family meal
