What Mums Are Saying

@BowtifulChescaDoll (Mum to Chesca, 2 and Gabby, 6): “It’s great educational material for bilingual children and even parents to learn and recall some of the basic words, phrases and songs in Chinese (Mandarin).  I also highly recommend this for older children who will learn a lot of basic Mandarin words from this book.

“Chesca listened to me as she touched the correct pictures of each corresponding word I asked for in English.  When she switched to Chinese mode, I asked her to touch each picture again and repeat what the book said in Chinese. She did so well in listening to my instructions.  I love how this book keeps her engaged in learning both languages while being attentive!”

@Brayjoe828 (Mum to 4 children): “Dion had so much fun exploring 100 plus vocabulary words in English and Chinese.  I love how with the slide of a button your child can immerse in bilingual play.  This will help them build a strong and solid literacy foundation.”

bilingualkidspot.com: “Kids can either be immersed in bilingual play, or for families with a Chinese and an English-speaking parent, each parent can use the book in their native language.  With Chinese being one of the most spoken languages in the world, it is fast becoming a popular language to learn for English speakers.

“Learning a second language while young is so much easier than learning as an adult, when children are able to distinguish better between sounds and therefore, they are able to imitate and pronounce them more easily.”

For toddlers aged 12 months and over, the 100 Words Book – English-Chinese with Learning Activity Guide is available from Big W.

  • I think children should be encouraged to learn several languages so they can converse with everyone in this multicultural world we live in. The Leapfrog tool would be a great, fun way to introduce another language.

  • With Australia becoming more of a multicultural society everyday, I feel it is necessary for children to make use of the technology on hand and learn how to speak another language. Furthermore, it has been shown children proficient in other languages also show signs of enhanced creativity and mental flexibility.

  • Because we are a multicultural couple and our princesses are learning their dads language also so they can communicate with their older relatives
