It would be a great opportunity for the whole family to learn something new

It’s useful in our multicultural society, and also it’s a fascinating skill to be able to speak in more than 1 language

Any second language is amazing and the sooner it can be introduced the better.

We are born in Australia however have Italian heritage. My parents spoke English to me so my Italian is not the sharpest. However my grandparents speak Italian and very little English, therefore for my little one to be able to learn Italian and communicate to his great grandparents would be magical!

I can speak and understand French, my mum is French Mauritian and we spoke French with my grandparents are alive, it would mean a lot to me if my sim could learn French and we could speak together like my grandparents did

My children’s school has had a Mandarin intern from China every year for the past 4 years teaching the students Mandarin. However with COVID and everything else this year our intern sadly had to go back to China and we haven’t been able to get another. This will help my kids keep learning Mandarin (which they have loved learning) at home!

Both my husband and I speak a second language, and we love the richness and nuances of a whole other culture embedded in that language, so it’s only natural that we’d want our children to enjoy the same benefits.

How good be that be one of little miss best friend in Chinese and her Aunty she is always asking how you say different words in Chinese it would be perfect for her to share some thing with her Aunty and best friend

It will widen my boys experiences later in life and hopefully I can also learn with them.

It is such a huge advantage to know another language and it would be an awesomeness start with the books

I am Aussie and husband is American and we met overseas. Travel is a huge part of our life and will continue to be. I wish I knew another language so it’s always been number one on my list for my son

I love that idea because it allows my child to explore his native language. It means a lot to me that he is able to communicate effectively with his cousins and grandparents regardless of where he is brought up. Also, this would be advantageous in a multi-racial community.

It’ll be great for my children to learn a second language as it would open up their world to many different and new avenues. It may help them achieve new friendships, new job opportunities, the list is endless.

I would love to teach my children that inclusion of all languages is important. I would show them how this can benefit them in the future also with travel, job opportunities and even teaching others.

My nearly 2 year old is very clever with words and I think she would find it interesting to learn words of another language to help her phonical sounds

Our daughter Portia is obsessed with other countries and their cultures especially China. She always comes out with different words she has learned like “Ni Hao”. She says she wants to go and live in Asia when she grows up and this would be a great tool to help her.

We already using two language at home, as English is not our mother tongue. I think teaching our kids to learn more than one language will give them a lot of benefits in the long term.

Our world will benefit to being more diverse, and in doing so having the bilingual ability will ensure we can adapt to our ever growing and changing environment. Our children are the future and so the future starts with them! A valuable skill for many jobs, interaction and diverse living.
