Do You Still Have The Original Family Tree House? It Could Be Worth Big Bucks

If you’re a toy hoarder, you may be coming into some cash soon, especially if you have held on to this original tree house toy.

Kids growing up in the 70’s and 80’s will remember the super-popular Kenner Family Tree House, which caused a major craze throughout the world.

This was basically a plastic tree with a button on top of the tree. When you give the button a push, a three-roomed house was revealed, with a staircase, garage, swing and even an elevator.

The tree was the home for a whole range of figurines and accessories which came bundled with the toy.

Well, it may be over 40 years old, but the iconic Kenner Family Tree House is still a much-wanted item for collectors.

You can find various listings for the item on eBay, ranging up to a couple of hundred dollars for the Vintage item, complete with original box and accessories.

So may be it’s time to rustle through the garage or attic and check if you still have an original tree house. Although your kids may love it so much, that they’ll beg you not to sell it.

One lesson from this – it can obviously pay off financially to hang on to our kid’s toys. You never know what’s going to be in fashion in 50 years time. You could be sitting on a potential gold mine.

Nope, never had it or wanted it. I do have a few of the kids toys that have become collectables tho. Sad part is to maximise worth, they need to be in original packaging. Not happening here

I’ve never seen this toy but my mother in law does still have some toys from when her kids were babies…the oldest is now 45 yrs old and my bub now gets to play with them.

  Aw that’s so much fun, I love old toys ! I remember my oma had lots of old toys too and we got to play with them…if only I would still have them !

I grew up in the 70s, but don’t remember this. I don’t have much of a recollection of toys growing up. I think they were scarce in our house with 4 kids.

Never had one, it’s an ugly toy. They sell fairly cheaply on US eBay if you want to shell out a truck load of money on postage, more than the thing is worth.

I have one similar but it’s a Winnie the Pooh one with an elevator etc. It is amazing what fetches money now days.

You can find quite some on ebay, most of them come from the States and other then the shipping rates to be quite high most items are not that expensive

No I don’t think they were around in the Netherlands when I grew up. Love them though, they really appeal to your fantasy !!

  Would be great for my 6yr old who has Down syndrome, her imaginary skills are delayed and this would certainly encourage her
