Hello!

My 8 month old has in the past 2 months, regressed so much with sleep, that she wakes on average 4 times each night, needing some form of a bottle to get back to sleep.
She was STTN at 3 months with no problem!! Help!?

  • So many options! And I’m guessing as this post was years ago you have your answer and I hope they are sleeping now! But it could be a growth spurt/too hot/too cold.

  • My baby has been like this sine the day he was born. And each month just gets worse. I’ve tried everything. I’m starting to think he has a genuine sleeping disorder but no dr takes me seriously. If you need a chat let me know. Hang in there

  • Presume you have checked with Doctor?. Is she teething? getting enough food?.My kids were good sleepers so did not have this problem, so hope can be of help.Does she sleep a lot during day is another question would check. I used to work with young Mums and there are special clinics out there that deal with children’s sleep issues.Do not worry too much and make sure you get enough rest too

  • She’s probably bring more food as she’s getting older. Is she on solids and maybe a cup of formula before bed would help.

  • Teething is the 1st thing that comes to mind but it could be a growth spurt or developmental milestone. Is she learning to crawl? May be that she’s practicing in her sleep and wakes herself up then has trouble resettling. The water trick someone mentioned is a great suggestion too. Good luck!

  • Could be any number of reasons.
Just make sure if you are giving a bottle during the night that you do just that and then straight back to bed.

  • Teething, growth spurt, night terrors. Try bath time just before bed time soothing lavender bath. I few tea spoons of rice cereal and a nice warm bottle of milk, If it’s teething some panadol Baby can help re settle baby back to sleep.

  • They go through lots of phases like this unfortunally. Hopfully with a little time it will pass soon.

  • there are some good comments here

  • My daughter has never slept thru the night before and she is 11 months now. She wakes up average 3x per night :(

  • Some good advice there below.

  • sounds like a growth spurt. Extra food before bed, and try cutting bottles down at night as they might start to become habit rather than out of hunger. do you use a dummy? sometimes the sucking motion is the comfort they are looking for

  • Try upping her solids? See if that helps?

  • I am having the EXACT problem too…:(

  • she could possible be hungry might pay to try more solids.

  • Is she teething? We had ours settled and all was going well until teething started!

  • Have you tried the water only approach? my friends kid was the same at that age and when he only got water and not milk when he woke, he stopped waking up after a while.

  • My two youngest kids were terrible sleepers. Nothing worked for me but time. Now 4 and 7 they are brilliant sleepers. Not much help to you now I afraid but it does get better. Good luck xx

  • Hope you find a way of getting her back into a good routine.

  • How are you going with it all now :)
