  • More than just groceries

    I was really surprised by how much my local IGA apart from the normal groceries. I loved the hot food section, which would be handy for an easy dinner. They also had a great range of fresh flowers and heaps of pre-packaged sweets and chocolates. I thought these were such a cute idea and would be perfect for a last minute gift. I got some chocolate pretzels to try! I’ll definitely be looking at these sections again next time.

  • Variety Galore!

    I haven’t done a shop at IGA for yonks, so on my adventure to IGA I was pleasantly surprised.

    Everything that I’ve seen on TikTok and socials of brand collabs and special treats, I could find at IGA.

    Not only that, heaps of products I’ve never seen before like the hot foldys in the pic!

    The sushi section was my favourite part, it was so fresh and heaps of yummy choices that I’ll have to go back and keep trying. I ended up eating a few options and they were delicious.

    I’m so pleased that you can find everything you need for your basic pantry and more. Giving heaps of variety for what you can have for tea!

  • Truly a one-stop shop🤩

    I loved having the chance to discover more at IGA! I went in expecting to grab a few basics, but ended up finding so much more. I picked up some great quality steaks that are just as good as any butcher, stocked up on hayfever medication ready for the season ahead, grabbed a Magic Eraser, and even found a few tasty snacks and drinks I hadn’t tried before.

    What really surprised me was how much they had in one place and the variety of prices for every budget. It made shopping quick and easy, and the staff topped off a great experience by providing such friendly service. I’ll definitely be coming back, not just for the essentials, but to see what else I can discover!

  • Loving our local IGA

    Omg from the moment you step in store the freshness just hits you, from the beautiful display of fresh salads and fruit to the pre packed salads, veggie platters and than you find fresh Aussie meats, cheeses and artisan crackers it was very impressive. I was able to pick up the perfect array of produce to put together a beautiful platters for our friend afternoon playing board games but I cant wait to go back to IGA to try more of their beautiful range.

  • Delicious condiments to elevate the everyday

    I love our local IGA, it has been a source of many interesting discoveries that then become household staples. From the different marinaded meats available in the meat department to these great sauces, there’s always something new to find. I stumbled across Gold Gourmet Foods sauces in the deli fridge section a few weeks ago. What started out as a simple mayonnaise, the range quickly expanded. I’m always finding a new flavour in this range. Not only is the range expanding but the flavours are top notch and high quality. Nearly every sauce at home has been replaced by Gold Gourmet Foods sauces. The Hollandaise is close to what you find in a cafe, making Eggs Benny easy to make at home. After a quick taste test when I walked in the door, my favourite is the Chipotle Mayo with the Garlic Aioli coming in at a very close second, I love that they are a 500ml bottle, it’s such good value for money. I love a good Caesar salad so their Caesar dressing is next on my to try list

  • Each store has hidden gems!

    I love that all IGAs are unique and different! You know you’re always going to have a different variety of products to peruse and new ranges to try. Each store is an experience and it’s always worth supporting our local businesses! We love these ‘Mario’s pastizzi’ we find at our local and they keep us coming back for more!

  • Local IGA Grocery Run

    Popped into my local IGA for a quick grocery run and was super impressed. I managed to get this entire haul for under $60!. Picked up everything from toddler nappies and baby bottles to fresh bread, iced cinnamon treats and my favourite Shin Ramyun Black noodles. The store team were really friendly making the visit even better. Love that I can grab everyday essentials, budget friendly Black & Gold staples, and speciality goodies all in one place!

  • The best place to shop

    We love our local IGA!

    So many beautiful food options from local and all over the world that you can't get anywhere else. For this challenge we got a local brie cheese, pies, spanikopita, in house baked goods and deli meat. We cant find these elsewhere and are blown away at the value!

  • My local IGA 🥇

    Today I headed I into my local IGA to pick up somethings for dinner. What I love about my IGA is that as soon as you walk in they have different items for sale depending on time of year. At the moment they have some great winter products including mugs, beanies, hand warmers etc. so great to help keep you warm and cozy. As I headed down all the isle something that stood out to me was how great everything was presented. Shelves were stocked and full of great specials and everything was neat and tidy. Today I found in the fridge section that they are stocking a juice from the apple farm near by, it doesn’t get much more local than that! I also picked up some mince from the meat section, one thing I love about IGA is their meat is always so fresh and full of flavour. I then stopped by the deli to pick up some fresh salad to go along with tomorrow nights dinner. IGA really has something for everyone and it’s always a good feeling knowing you’re supporting Australian farmers.

  • Wide range of products for a footy feast!

    My local IGA is a one stop shop for me as it caters for a wide range of dietary requirements for all the family such as gluten free and sugar free, there are snacks for the dogs and the essentials such as laundry liquid so I can wash the clothes while we enjoy all the snacks while watching the AFL on tv with my latest in store discovery, freshly made popcorn!

    Friendly service close to home makes shopping at my local IGA convenient and my one stop shop!

  • Two words- cheese room

    I am so lucky that I live near a Jones and Co IGA. These speciality stores are basically a treat to visit for treats. I get so sick of the same old stuff at Woolies so when I walk into this IGA, there is always something different and delicious waiting. My IGA not only has the most delicious sales and pre packed veg, but a whole sushi bar, a bakery, a cafe and a CHEESE ROOM!! Such a treat! I find so many unique products here, like my favourite Biltong, pink specialty cheeses, yummy house made butcher products- the stuffed mushrooms are to die for! If you want something special for a dinner party or a special gift, or even a girl dinner, I will always come here to find ingredients to impress. The staff are mostly helpful. The groceries on the shelves and the produce are slightly more expensive but you don’t shop for those things here. This is a specialty store for the extras. I got such a great haul today and I’m looking forward to my next treat trip to IGA mount cotton.

  • Love you mortadella can say!

    I was pleasantly surprised at the range of cured meats and cheeses on offer. The IGA was very organised and all the produce was fresh and arranged neatly. They had my favourite d’affinois cheese in store, along with truffle salami and mortadella. I’m excited to enjoy a delicious platter. Great variety and selections on offer!

  • Very surprised

    I was pleasantly surprised doing my shop at IGA. They had a lot of the brands that I would normally buy from Cole’s or woolworths, I found the pricing was pretty similar to the bigger supermarkets but there where some things that were cheaper and there were quite a few bargains.

  • Loving IGA recently

    I have been enjoying IGA at my local as they’ve stepped up their game! I find their specials better than Cole’s and Woolies and the freshness are way nicer! I save money on their specials for school lunches and they’ve had very nice fruit lately! Very impressed and the IGA rewards cash back card makes it even better

  • Lots of surprises and amazing deals

    I’m always surprised at how IGA is able to deliver value but when you really study and track their prices, you notice things. Like how many “50% off” stickers there are and the fact that they’re actually true, the prices are halved. Our other big surprise was the amount of Asian foods they had at reasonable prices. Having had an amazing Japan holiday last year, my kids are always hunting out Japanese snacks and treats

  • Always love shopping at IGA

    The Robert Timms Café Series Medium Roast coffee was such a great find at IGA! It has a rich, smooth flavour and makes a really good café-style coffee at home. And the Black & Gold French Style Cheesecake was the perfect treat to go with it, creamy, delicious and great value. Definitely two things I’d recommend picking up on your next IGA shop!

  • Surprise around every corner

    What Hamilton store lacks in size it makes up in depth and different products it has to cater for its ethnic customers. Great service from staff. Wonderful items soaked in olive oil. Dips, goats cheese and to die for cooked pork ribs. I will be back!

  • My Local IGA Knows I Never Run on Schedule

    As a busy parent of 10 and a registered nurse, I really appreciate that IGA stores in South Australia stay open later on weekends. There have been plenty of times when work and family commitments have meant that other supermarkets have already closed before I've had a chance to do the shopping.

    I recently visited the Christies Beach IGA with my two little helpers, and we had a great experience. There was a fantastic range of products, plenty of bargains, and lots of half-price specials throughout the store. The fresh fruit and vegetables looked great, and the eggs were especially well priced.

    My kids loved discovering the jelly cups and insisted they had to come home with us. They also found the toy section, and convincing them to leave was quite the challenge!

    The staff member who served us was lovely and chatty. It was so much nicer interacting with a real person than using a self-service checkout.

    My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a trolley available. I was lucky to have my two little helpers pulling along two wheely baskets, otherwise I might have struggled to carry everything.

    We'll definitely be back.

  • Always some great find at IGS

    I’ve really enjoyed shopping at my local IGA! All the fresh produce looks so good, I love seeing the great variety of different products that are available. I recently decided to give the laundry sheets a go and have been really impressed with them! It’s such a great local shop with a friendly team, super convenient and always a fantastic shopping environment I’ll definitely be going back time and time again. Highly recommend!

  • My Local IGA

    Lots of new and exciting products to buy and try. My local IGA was well stocked with lots of new and exciting products. I was tempted to buy a Devil Wears Prada cheesecake as it looked delicious. Had to control the temptation as we are all on a diet in my house at the moment.

  • Local brands taking care of locals!

    I had so much fun discovering my Local IGA. I couldn’t believe how many local products they had! I spoke to one of the managers who was kind enough to talk about the brands that are exclusively at Ballarat stores like 1816 Bakehouse, Inglenook Dairy, Istra ham, White Swan Eggs, Springhill Farm snacks, Grounded Pleasures baking products. They even have a butcher on site to cut all their own meat! Other supermarkets say they care about their locals but this shop actually showed they care with what they offer. My favourite hidden gem was their homeware and kids nook, it felt like a chill safe haven cut into the centre of the store. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and am now converted! I plan to buy as many staples as possible from local producers.

  • IGA review on produce and value

    Unfortunately I have been left wanting more from IGA. Our IGA store didn’t have a large variety of stock and what they did have was markedly more expensive than the larger chains. If you are looking for a quick pit stop on the way home then it is your go to but for larger shops unfortunately it is expensive on most items.

  • Where service comes with a smile!

    My local IGA is great! The service is second to none. Ange the manager plus all the staff are always happy. This particular IGA is on the smaller side, but it has everything you need and more. The prices are similar to the big ones, so you're on a winner supporting the smaller guys. His store does wine and nibbles tasting every Friday for the locals which is different to alot of IGA's around. Strathmore Mascoma IGA also has hot food ready for a quick lunch or dinner. Ange asked what I was doing and made me allow him to do the video part of the quest 'BANG!'

  • Love a local food experience shop

    Wow! I usually do my groceries at the “big” grocery stores for convenience and assumption that is cheaper and better. But I have been convinced otherwise. IGA is fresh, local, organised, fully stocked and have some incredible deals. I was able to get 3 dinners and ingredients for a platter all for $60. The great thing was it was local, good quality food. I was impressed with the unique food selections that the “big” supermarkets do not have, including pick your own wall and fresh popcorn being made. I would totally shop here again.

  • Lots of Unique Items

    I love my local IGA because it has so many unique items! My daughter has some specific tastes when it comes to snacks and also apparently sriracha (there is one brand only that she will accept!). Some of the things she asks for just aren't available elsewhere, but IGA always comes through.

    The fresh section looked vibrant and well stocked, and I especially love the section at the front with all the delicious artisan treats like cheeses, meats, dips and ready meals.

  • I always love an iga

    I always see such good prices on all sorts things, like marshmallows, and kid snacks. The meat is fresh and nice!!

  • Party time!

    Last minute party bags to organise, so it was off to IGA in a hurry. What a surprise, they had so many great options in store! The staff were super helpful and the prices were great. The party bon bons that I ended up buying were a big hit with the kids and my son was super pleased! A great haul at a great price!

  • Mid week essentials shop!

    Went to my local IGA for a mid week essentials shop of things that aren’t at my usual grocery shop.

    Their baby section has some amazing products and for a great price.

    The cleaning products aisle has sooo much to choose from for all your needs!

    And we cannot forget coffee! The newborn trenches definitley requires coffee and they ALWAYS have my fav coffee on special.

    I love the layout of our local IGA with all the fresh produce on show and also as you walk in there is a “seasonal” area with all kinds of trinkets and gift type products that change depending on the season or holiday (Christmas, Easter).

    IGA is definitely the perfect shop for something different, a mid week stock up of items and lots and lots of good deals and specials.

  • Home cooked meals at your local IGA!

  • I have been a Purkle member for 10 years now. At the moment I have over $100 I am able to convert. Surveys can take any where from 3 minutes to 30 minutes and vary in amount you earn. It’s a great way to earn some money when you have free time. I am pretty slack at opening the emails so if I was more attentive I could have earnt a lot more.

  • I have been a Purkle member for approximately 10 years. I have redeemed hundreds of dollars over that time. Once you join, you receive survey invitations via email. I probably receive one invite per week. Some surveys are 5 minutes, others 30 minutes, some hours which enable you to log in and log out to complete. Incentives vary. It does take a while to add up but if you leave the incentives untouched, they eventually add up over time. It’s my little Purple bank account I have in the background of everything else I do.

  • I have been with Purkle for a bit but I actually haven’t seen their email a for a while. I probably should check my account online and check if my emails are going to spam as the emails are what prompts me to go online and complete the available surveys.

  • I have been with purkle for a long time on average cash in about 300 a year, it’s very easy to convert money to useable vouchers. I find it easier to just fill in whilst watching tv or something. Sometimes there are gaps with surveys but tend to save them till end of year anyway

  • I actually signed up to Purkle a few years ago and didn’t really make much money then! Its a good article though, and thanks for the reminder to log back in and do some surveys! Both my kids are at school now, so I do have some more spare time to fill!

  • Tried it before and it’s definitely one of the better companies to do surveys with. They make it so easy, the website is easy to navigate and the surveys are generally not too long. It’s easy to do whilst on the couch or filling in time! Definitely worth checking out to earn some extra cash.
