  • IGA Fresh fruit & Veg

    I headed into my local IGA to pick up some fresh fruit and veg for some birthday party preparations. I grabbed some Pineapple, Watermelon, Grapes, blueberries and Cherry Tomatoes.

    I used the fruit to make a fruit platter and the cherry tomatoes went on my charcuterie board.

    All the produce is super fresh and great quality. The produce section is always colorful and inviting filled with local products when able.

    We love stopping into our local IGA for essentials, fruit & veg or a last min meal.

  • Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic!

    The IGA store I chose to shop at was not my closest store but it certainly was the largest I’ve ever visited! I was welcomed with a huge selection of fresh and bright fruit and vegetables as I walked through the entrance. There was also a lovely large delicatessen, cheese display area, extra large meat section, a cute little bakery and not to mention the wide aisles and trolleys too! Oh, and there was a cafe tucked in the corner too. There was just such a great selection! I felt like Charlie from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! The prices were reasonable too! In fact, I bought much more than I planned to. An excellent place to shop when you want quality, freshness and lots of variety. I can’t wait to go back again!

  • Yummy seasonal fruit!

    Iga has such a big range of fruit /and veg compared to the other supermarkets. Although it might be a bit more expensive it is definitely better quality and lasts longer.

  • School holiday fruit top up!

    As soon as we stepped into our local IGA we noticed the fresh and delicious range of produce on offer. We immediately went to the watermelon and berries as they looked perfectly ripe and were also pleased with the bananas, lime, onions and carrots. While we were impressed with the appearance and freshness of the produce, the cost was not as competitive as I had hoped. The range was also on the smaller side but still had all the essentials. We particularly found the avocado and continental cucumber too costly and a pineapple we picked up was far more expensive than expected. The cashier service was friendly and I am overall pleased with the quality of the fruits and vegetables. I would certainly return to IGA for a quick and convenient produce top up.

  • After School Spring Smoothies!

    I'm always looking for ways to change up the after school snacks for my 4 kiddos, and having had baby number 5, just a month ago, quick, healthy, nutrient dense snacks are a must!

    We headed down to our local IGA and picked various fresh fruit and veg suitable. The items were fully ripe, large size, and really juicy! The kids all chose what they wanted in their smoothies, with the option of whole milk, coconut water, and natural yoghurt as little extras. The smoothies all turned out vibrant in colour and rich in flavour, and kept 4 tummies (plus mum and dad!) happy until a late dinner! We will definitely add IGA to our regular shopping, and wouldn't use lesser quality to feed our growing family!

  • This could become a favourite shop

    I haven't been to this IGA (Southport) before because I thought the parking would be terrible - but it was not. It was easy access in and out and close to the shop. The IGA felt like a high end food hall, really lovely produce, clean, fresh, new fittings and the member of staff who I spoke to at checkout was really helpful, helping me with the IGA app and making the voucher process easy. And OMG, the cheeses - if you like a bit of cheese, you must go there.

  • Really impressed with the quality of the fresh produce from IGA!

    Everything was incredibly fresh, vibrant and great quality. The fruit and vegetables were all in excellent condition, with beautiful colour, good size and very little blemishing or damage.

    The fruit was juicy and full of flavour, while the vegetables were fresh, crisp and tasted exactly how good-quality produce should. The oranges and apples were my personal favourites!

    Overall, I was extremely happy with the selection. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into choosing the produce at IGA, and everything looked exactly as you’d hope when buying your fruit and vegetables.

    Fresh, great quality and excellent variety. I’ll definitely be shopping at IGA for my fresh produce again!

    I found IGA to have a great selection of fruit on offer and at great prices. The fruit was fresh and delicious and easy to find. I liked the lay of the products in store and the staff were helpful and friendly

  • Fruit Salad

    My local IGA is convenient and easy to navigate.

    The fruit and vegetable section is always well stocked with plenty on offer .The fruit and vegetables are locally sourced and fresh.

    The fruit ls nicely stacked and presented no bad apples 👌.

    I purchased manly fruit with a mixture of what I like for lunch with a catchup with friends .

    The apples are shiny and crunchy,the kiwi fruit was juicy and fresh ,the mandarins were sweet and easy to peel, the bananas were nice and not woody ,I love watermelon it was juicy and seedless all priced resonobly .

  • Exceeded expectations

    We reviewed IGA fresh produce this week and were VEarY impressed.

    The range of fruits and veggies is fantastic. The freshness and taste was well worth the trip too. Being so hot lately we decided ti byy a bunch of fruits to make a fruit salad. From a price point IGA is a great pick, but the quality is what gets me. Their fruit is so so fresh and so tasty. Even laura gave her tick of approval.

    Iga always exceeds my expectations. We shop here more and more now since reviewing with mouths of mums.

  • Not totally happy

    Wasn't too impressed with the freshness of the produce. Didn't get fresh bananas like I wanted to as they were green so opted for some reduce to clear ones - but that was a mistake. They didn't taste very good and I ended up throwing them out. Had to rummage around to find a punnet of strawberries with no mouldy ones.

    Staff were excellent though!!! They were friendly and helpful. I would go back for the service, but not the produce.

  • Had a big day? It's okay, there's IGA

    While I usually do my shop at one of the bigger chains, I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh produce and the prices at my local IGA. I got everything I needed to put together Halloumi tacos with fresh salsa, capsicum and sauteed cabbage.

    Great range of produce and so convenient to be able to call in on a Friday afternoon.

  • Need more fresher options

    I enjoyed this experience as I often am buying fresh food for my 6 month old and this was perfect for her!! Unfortunately grapes are very expensive but i purchased some and they were great! My daughter has decided she is a big fan of them! She has also discovered a new liking to pumpkin! And continues to be inlove with potato’s. All of the fruit and veggies i purchased was in the best condition they had. There was a lot of clearance fresh food going off and it was sad to see! I hope more options could be used for clearance items!

  • Wow so fresh!

    Wow was I surprised at both the presentation and variety of the fresh produce.. not to mention the quality! So many varieties of produce and really liked the pre packaged fruits for convenience. There was plenty of stock available and will definitely be opting to pick up fresh produce from IGA

  • Great iga, would shop again

    Well presented fruits and veg. Although little on the pricier side, but the quality is good. Staff was friendly and helpful and always point me to what u need. I loved specials though. Handy for a one stop shop. I always find something new to try. Definitely recommend if you looking for a quality produce

  • A solution to fresh fruit shopping

    I am absolutely amazed at how affordable the fresh fruit selection at IGA is. I was hosting a gathering over the weekend and in need of some vegetarian dishes. I made my last minute trip to IGA to discover a wide range of fresh fruits and vegetables. Impressed!

  • Love everything about it

    My IGA Fruit and Vegetables trip was a great success. I love the compact and but impactful department. My little one loves her corns, blueberries and bananas and we need to buy them every second, third day. Our local IGA have them priced well and always good quality. What I love about them also is that if you need any help it is always available. My little one especially loved the corns which were so sweet and fresh.

  • Good variety, great service

    IGA produce department is a one stop shop for all your fruit and vegetable needs. With great weekly specials and competitive prices it is worth visiting often. On my last trip as part of my review I bought avocados, apples, blueberries, corn, baby cucumbers and grapes. All of these were just over $30 which is great value. The freshness of the fruit and vegetables were great for all with the exception of cucumbers. Unfortunately they broke down overnight and were not edible. Perhaps it was just an unlucky choice. Nevertheless IGA has great produce and good prices which I would recommend.

  • Great and convenient local store with all the essentials

    My closest local shop that had the essential range of seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables. The fruit and veg is right at the entrance and the blueberries definitely stood out as they were on special and a great amount of stock. The mango was super tasty and a great size (although expensive). The vegetables had a good range, again, more expensive than other supermarkets, but also very convenient and the IGA had very long opening hours. Fruit and veg was fresh and tasted delicious and perfect range for some missing ingredients or on a Sunday night when you forget to do a food shop before school lunches on Monday. Staff lovely and store had a real community vibe.

  • Fresh finds, Happy Kids and an Empty fruit bowl!

    I recently visited Champions IGA Fresh Market to check out the fresh fruit and vegetable range, and I was pleasantly surprised!

    The first thing I noticed was how beautifully presented everything was. The fresh produce section was spacious, clean and packed with a fantastic variety of colourful fruit and veg. Everything looked fresh and inviting, and there were some great specials to be found.

    I picked up strawberries, blueberries, red grapes, watermelon and a selection of other goodies! The blueberries were a great buy at just $3.49 a punnet, and I managed to grab a large bag of red grapes reduced to $5 (which didn't last long!)

    As a busy mum, I'm always looking for fresh, good-quality produce that the kids will actually eat, and I'm happy to report that everything went down a treat! The fruit didnt last long in our house, not because it went bad, but because the kids ate it all! That's always a win in my books.

    While I went a little over budget, I came home with a variety of fruit and veg that my family enjoyed.

    Overall I was impressed with the presentation, variety and freshness of the produce. I'd definitely recommend checking out the produce section at your local IGA.

  • Fresh,Fresh, FRESH!

    I was amazed at the stock that my local IGA had and the quality of fruits and veg they stock. Amazing! The way that they stock the section looked like I was shopping gourmet but not at gourmet prices, it was great. I have trouble finding berry punnets that aren’t half mouldy at other businesses, but in IGA they all looked straight from the farm fresh. I made sure to stock up!

  • Freshest fruit and good service

    Purchased a range of fruit including bananas, apples, pears , strawberries and a watermelon. Vibrant colours , crunchy produce , juicy watermelon. Cost of bananas were a little expensive but children were happy with the flavour . Also purchased fresh crisp cucumbers

  • Fresh and sweet

    Wow, there was lots of lovely fresh fruit and vegetables, a lot of the pre-cut vegetables and fruits that were on display had already been weighed, prepared and had a price on it, so that was good to budget wise. I chose some lovely items that I wouldn’t have been able to, due to the price of food, my family will enjoy eating them, thanks IGA.

  • Fruit Salad Time!

    Went to my local IGA today to pick up fruit for a Friday afternoon fruit salad for the family.

    While my local didn't have a great range of stock at the time of my visit, I picked up some lovely watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, rockmelon, apples and kiwi fruit.

    The majority of the fruit was nice and fresh, though there were a couple of soft strawberries and one slightly soft kiwi fruit.

    Made a yummy fruit salad for the kids which was enjoyed by everyone!

  • LGA FRESNESH ALL THE WAY

    I’m really impressed with the quality, freshness and variety of fruit and vegetables at LGA. There’s a great selection of fresh produce, from everyday essentials to seasonal favourites, with plenty of choice for the whole family. The fruit is colourful, fresh and delicious, and the vegetables are perfect for everything from healthy salads to home-cooked meals. I also appreciate having a good range available so I can buy everything I need in one place. Fresh fruit and vegetables are such an important part of a healthy lifestyle, and it’s great to see a store offering quality produce that makes shopping enjoyable. Keep up the fantastic work!

  • Yummy seasonal fruit

    The fruit at this IGA looked really yummy and fresh. The prices too were quite good which I was pleasantly surprised about. There was quite a lot of variety and I’m excited to be able to feed my kids and family some yummy fruit this weekend. Worth going in for sure!

  • An interesting time at my local

    I went into my local (epping) at about 10 to 6 on a Thursday night.

    It was a bit of a busy time. I found that the store was a bit of a tight squeeze, upon entry there were people exiting the liquor area, purchasing from the Tattslotto, and leaving the supermarket all in the same section.

    I walked to the fresh fruit and veg section. It was my first time seeing so much of this in refrigeration. The only fruit and veg out of refrigeration was onions, some mangoes, bananas and some mandarines.

    Everything else, including avocados and potatoes were refrigerated!!

    This did make the fruit and veg section look very bare. However, pretty much everything I needed was in the fridges.

    Things like avocado, mangoes, bananas, we’re not ripe to eat anytime soon.

    I also noticed some of the tomatoes were going bad. Overall, the section was not extremely tidy.

    It looked a little bit disheveled. A few items were low or out of stock.

    The overall store looked a little worse inside.. outside it looked very fresh and new.

    I purchased celery, avocados, bananas, tomatoes, cauliflower, and potatoes.

    When I went to check out, the staff member apologies for them being slow at checking out due to all of my items being produce. And then asked if they accept IGA rewards, which he said they do.

    He swiped my card for me. I then said that I would be paying using partially a gift card and the rest of my card.

    He scanned my gift card and then instructed me to pay for the rest on my card. My total was $33 and some change. When I went to tap my card, I noticed it still said $33 which it should’ve gone down to around three dollars something.

    I mentioned this to the gentleman and he seemed flustered. He asked me to take my receipt and pay at the liquor area if it gets quiet.

    I took my groceries and waited at the liquor counter.

    Eventually, there I was served and the staff member typed my gift card number in, and I paid the remainder

  • Going Bananas for IGA's Fruit & Veg

    I was surprised at the range on offer at the IGA store in Brassall. The prices were pretty comparable to the big supermarkets, but I do feel like I got a good amount for $30. The fruit and veg were mostly good quality; my cauliflower had a few old marks on it which I didn't notice until I got home but with a trim it will be fine. The lemons I'm excited to use in my lemon-ricotta pancakes! The sweet potatoes are going to become delicious mash with pure butter. The bananas and apples are going to help fuel me for the next few days, especially with sport. We popped some capsicum in our rice for a meal just to add some flavour. The pumpkin and cauliflower will be used for a roast meat meal. The avocado will go on crackers with cream cheese and pumpkin seeds. And the rock melon can be added to some icecream! The service I received at the store was exceptional, the young man was friendly and made the whole visit and transaction a breeze.

  • Fresh fruit and veggies. Yes please!

    IGA has a great selection of fresh fruit and veggies which made for an easy and convenient shopping experience. They had all different varieties which meant dinner and breakfast was sorted! All produce was fresh on the shelves and they had a good amount of stock on shelves available to buy.

  • Small IGA, big difference

    I went to an IGA that is on the smaller side today rather than a big one. There was definitely a big difference! This smaller one had a lot less to choose from. I really wanted cherry tomatoes but the quality wasn’t very good so I didn’t get any. I ended up with some fruit to share with my kids and think that it’s summer already!

  • I have been a purkle.member for several years now since first reading about it on this MoM’s website. The surveys are fun and i have scored quite a few gifts cards on Purkle after reaching the required.number of points. Its easy to sign up tok so why not give it a go?

  • If you haven’t already signed up for Purkle, what are you waiting for?? Do it!! It’s so easy to do, and it is really rewarding. I regularly get surveys, almost daily, and it takes no time at all to gain enough to cash out a gift card. It’s been great for splurging.

  • I’ve earnt quite a lot through Purkle.They pay in gift cards and it acts as a great side income especially when it comes to buying something that is a non essential.I love Purkle 😉

  • I have been a Purkle member for 10 years now. At the moment I have over $100 I am able to convert. Surveys can take any where from 3 minutes to 30 minutes and vary in amount you earn. It’s a great way to earn some money when you have free time. I am pretty slack at opening the emails so if I was more attentive I could have earnt a lot more.

  • I have been a Purkle member for approximately 10 years. I have redeemed hundreds of dollars over that time. Once you join, you receive survey invitations via email. I probably receive one invite per week. Some surveys are 5 minutes, others 30 minutes, some hours which enable you to log in and log out to complete. Incentives vary. It does take a while to add up but if you leave the incentives untouched, they eventually add up over time. It’s my little Purple bank account I have in the background of everything else I do.

  • I have been with Purkle for a bit but I actually haven’t seen their email a for a while. I probably should check my account online and check if my emails are going to spam as the emails are what prompts me to go online and complete the available surveys.

  • I have been with purkle for a long time on average cash in about 300 a year, it’s very easy to convert money to useable vouchers. I find it easier to just fill in whilst watching tv or something. Sometimes there are gaps with surveys but tend to save them till end of year anyway

  • I actually signed up to Purkle a few years ago and didn’t really make much money then! Its a good article though, and thanks for the reminder to log back in and do some surveys! Both my kids are at school now, so I do have some more spare time to fill!

  • I have joined purkle years ago and did make a fair bit of money back then when on mat leave doing a fair few surveys. But it has been years since I have used it so this article was a good reminder to get back on it and earn some additional money!

  • Thank you for sharing this. I hadn’t hear of Purkle! Being a single mum and only working part time means every extra dollar is handy. I enjoy doing surveys and reviews in my downtime anyway, so I might as well earn while doing it! I’ve just joined, so hopefully it will be a good experience.

  • Tried it before and it’s definitely one of the better companies to do surveys with. They make it so easy, the website is easy to navigate and the surveys are generally not too long. It’s easy to do whilst on the couch or filling in time! Definitely worth checking out to earn some extra cash.
