Hello!

Does anyone notice a surge in people collecting Polly Pockets from years ago? It must remind them of their childhood. The same as the latest release of Care

  • I hadn’t noticed that with Polly Pockets, but I have seen people collecting similar nostalgic toys. I can see the appeal of things that bring back childhood memories like that.

  • I never had any but always wanted them growing up

  • I haven’t really noticed that, though I’ve seen news reports about it. I never had them in the first place though.

  • These were great fun collecting as a kid, as well as cabbage patch dolls and care bears. I’m sure there were colourful rubber horses aswell but I cant remember the name. Oh the memories!

  • It isn’t just Polly Pocket. Vintage toys have always been collectable and some of the Polly Pocket sold prices on eBay are unbelievable. I collect certain vintage dolls and toys and belong to a number of those groups. There are some real die hard fans of vintage toys about who pay big money to secure something missing from their collection and a whole lot more if it’s MIB.

  • Love polly pockets and carebears!

  • No i never heard of it.

  • I keep hearing about it, but I don’t know of anyone who’s actually buying them.

  • Mostly online, ebay market place etc.. They seem to have a big following.

  • No I didn’t notice. Do you mean at your kids schools, online or people approaching you ?

  • I have never heard of my child doll. Are they popular?

  • Yes! I never had them as a kid as we couldn’t afford them, so may go but a few! ;)

  • Op shops are terrific places for searching for retro toys.

  • Yep! Also a surge in other older toys such as My Child dolls etc.

  • True the Polly Pockets in shops are so expensive. I cam across one of my daughters old Polly pockets the other day. The daughter is now 35! I must admit it is cute but missing Polly and a lot of parts.

  • Some toys and other products seem to cycle and retro toys can easily come back into fashion. We enjoy new and retro toys.

  • Yes ! I think it’s because they released the new ones too. It gets people feeling sentimental. Plus, they are a very cute toy :)

  • I LOVE vintage polly pockets, I’ve kept mine from childhood! I dream of finding them in opshops – I think I would faint! I don’t even look at ones for sale online because the prices are so dear!
