Just repeat. If an activity is fun, no need to stop at doing it just once. Kids soon forget things, so just repeat the fun stuff

My son did a huge amount of puzzles every single day when he was 2. My girls were into playing with dolls and imaginary play. Also playing with cars, animal farm, music, reading and lots and lots of craft, drawing, colouring, painting and playdough/kinetic sand, waterplay, playground and sandpit.

Make a book to give craft a theme. Days of the week, colours, noah’s ark, and do a page of the book each day. Make each page a different type of craft (glitter, pasta, paint, leaves/nature stuck in. Make your own puzzles (draw the puzzle in black lines, draw a picture, then cut out the puzzle). Hope you find things to do!

My 2 year old has just gotten into the books that come with a cd that they can sit and listen to. It will hopefully give you half an hour to have a cup of tea while they sit quietly and read and listen.

My almost 3 year old and 4 1/2 year old have loved ‘Dress Up Dinner’ for some time, long before they were 2 years old! It’s great for those rainy nights on a weekend at home. We all dress up, of course my son picks a Superhero, my daughter a Princess or Dora mainly, my husband and I have accumulated silly wigs and bits and pieces from Discount Shops and dress up! It’s a great night, have dinner in our dress up gear and then we all tell stories. Depending on your childs speech, you can tell a story and encourage her to use words/sentences etc. They love it, stops the boredom and you get to spend quality time as a family! Hope you enjoy.

I found getting some craft kits big w or kmart have some great boxes that contain loads of things for the little ones to make and do together, or you could try making your own play dough at home.

Things that I have done with my three year old (which would be suitable for 2 year old aswell) is cooking, I involve her in mixing and assisted pouring, putting ingredients in, she just loves it, it does get messy but they have so much fun, who cares! We also like to collect the toilet roll holders and we make bird feeders from them, we paint or spread the toilet roll holder with peanut butter and them roll them in bird seed, then we just slide them over branches on the trees, she then loves to sit and watch as the birds come. We also put a sheet over the dining table and make a cubby and have a picnic lunch in there sometimes. We find a lot of cheap little activities to do together at masters or bunnings or even $2 shops. There are also a lot of ideas on the internet that can be done with stuff you have at home already! Good luck and I hope you all get better soon!
