  • Great value!

I really enjoyed my shopping experience at my local IGA today. It’s always nice to be able to shop at a small independent supermarket that’s close to home. The parking lot was easy to get in and out and I got a spot right by the door. The store was clean and tidy with an easy to follow layout.

Many items were on sale meaning I got more for my money than planned! I was actually quite surprised by the amount of items on sale! This enabled me to buy some name brand products that are usually too expensive for me.

I also loved seeing so many local WA products (the eggs/milk/yogurt/fresh produce etc) without the expensive price tag.

All up I spent $60.80 and I feel as though I got great value for money.

It was also nice to be served at the register and offered a recycled box for my shopping.

I will definitely be back again next week!

  • Great value at IGA

I was so impressed with my local Tucker fresh IGA. Their quality of produce and Meats was next to none. The presentation of the store was also very clean and tidy and presented beautifully.

I was able to pick up so many mid week essentials and a splurge or two. Can not believe I managed to buy so much for $60! What great value!

To top the amazing experience off, I had the best Customer service experience, something I have not seen for some time. Top marks all round!

  • Fresh, Friendly and Better Value Than Expected

I visited my local IGA, Quintons in Warrandyte, and was pleasantly surprised. I’d often popped in for one or two things, but I’d always assumed a full grocery shop would be much more expensive and the range would be limited.

There were plenty of great specials, including trolleys and tables with heavily reduced items, some more than 50% off. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I was able to buy on a $60 budget.

The fruit and vegetables may be a little more expensive than the big supermarkets, but the quality and freshness were excellent, and well worth it.

The meat section was also fantastic, with a great variety of cuts, marinades and styles I don’t often see elsewhere, and everything looked really fresh.

The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful. When I asked where something was, one team member walked me straight to it rather than just pointing me in the general direction.

Overall, it was a really positive experience, and I’ll definitely be back to do more of my regular grocery shopping there.

  • Great value in so many ways

I recently popped into my local iga to pick up some pantry items I needed topping up as well as some fresh produce and meat. Iga is great value for money especially with the black and gold range they have, the produce is always fresh and tasty and the customer service is exceptional, I forgot what it was like to get served at a register! Always love a good iga shop, the value is beyond the dollar, it’s the customer service, quality of food and prices that do it for me.

  • Great value in the range of brands

Value for our family comes in the form of choices, choices to choose our brand preference, product price range and weekly deals / specials.

We were pleasantly suprised by the versatile range of products at our local IGA from home brand to those well known. I had often avoided IGA in the past expecting items to be of the same home brand, which they weren’t.

Products ranged in prices with some on the higher end and other cheaper options.

We managed to secure some everyday necessities, pack our snack bag for our upcoming holiday and even have budget leftover for a treat at the end.

We where shocked to find the viral fruit ice creams, which my son and I indulged in to finish off our lovely experience at IGA.

  • IGA - Sunday Shop

Sunday morning i bundled the kids into the car for our weekly shop! We enjoyed looking for specials & everyday low prices. The prices of IGA’s black & gold products make the dollar stretch so we were able to buy 23 products for our $60 shop! The staff are so lovely & helpful, always smiling & made me feel great about supporting our local IGA.

  • More Than I Expected From My Local IGA

I went to my local IGA mainly to find the City Larder chicken liver pâté, but I was really impressed by the rest of the store as well. They had a great range of fresh produce, quality meat and plenty of everyday staples that my whole family enjoys. I also found a few specials that were better value than I expected and picked up several products I would happily buy again. It was quick and convenient shopping locally, the staff were friendly, and it is always nice to support a local business.

  • Great Value

I was surprised by the value at my local IGA. Because it's a smaller supermarket, I found there were quite a few reduced items with a couple of days left before their use-by date. I picked up some fantastic bargains like a roast chicken for $5 and ready-made meals for around $4. I actually find it's easier to get these kinds of markdowns than at the larger supermarket chains. I also didn't realise IGA stands for Independent Grocers of Australia. I like that they are not part of a large chain. I really liked seeing products from local Yarra Valley businesses alongside the usual grocery brands. The prices and weekly specials were more competitive than I expected, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the IGA Rewards app was simple to use with clear cashback offers. Overall, it felt like great value while also supporting local businesses, and I'd definitely shop there

  • A convenient and low stimulation shopping experience

I loved not having to go into a big shopping centre, it was so easy to shop at IGA. It felt like we were in a country town while being in the middle of a busy suburb. That is value to me!

The produce was super fresh and was presented really well. The black and gold range also surprised me, I didn’t realise I could get so many affordable products.

The prices good we good and really competitive with the larger super markets which has encouraged me to keep shopping

  • SHOPPING LOCAL, SHOPPING VALUE AT IGA

I was so happy and surprised to see what $60 can get you at Laverton IGA! My favorite parts are definitely the fruit and vegetable section and the Asian grocery aisle. I picked up fresh gold kiwis for only $9 a kilo, and the quality was incredible.Their frozen section is also fantastic, stocking all the well-known brands like Inghams and Bibigo. I also managed to grab a massive bag of Panko breadcrumbs for just $8.50.To top it all off, the customer service was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful when I needed assistance. Overall, I am super happy with my experience and will definitely be back!

  • IGA Value unmatched

IGA is where we choose to shop as a household. Their value for money and quality is unmatched when it comes to a steak among other things. Our local IGA also offers price match so it really is a no brainer. The staff are always incredible. The isles are always stocked and have everything I need, which hasn’t been the case with other grocery stores of late and as a working mum I don’t have time to visit 3 different grocers for my food shop.

  • Genuinely surprised!

I have only ever gotten a few things from IGA randomly. So spending $60 and doing a top up shop I was actually pretty surprised withe value and range on offer.

The service was also so friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed being served by an actual person rather having to do it by myself and they even gave me a box rather than paper bags that often break before you leave the shops. Will be back!

  • Great Local Value

I truly value having such a great place to shop with my local IGA Kincumber being just 7 minutes from home! Parking is right outside, and I’m always greeted with a friendly smile.

There are always plenty of great specials, too. I picked up Black & Gold pasta varieties for just $1.05 and Dolmio pasta sauce for $3.15, plus saved another $2 with IGA Rewards cashback offer.

Although my local IGA is only small, it has all the everyday essentials I need. The fresh produce is actually better than what I find at the major supermarkets, too! Oh and they also stock a small selection of Bakers Delight bakery items.

It’s always a pleasant shopping experience at my local IGA.

  • Love IGA

I found that some products were overpriced compared to other main supermarkets. Its the first time buying black and gold products so will be keen to see how they measure up in quality.

Unfortunate the worker in the deli section wasn’t too friendly which dampened my experience.

  • Love my local IGA

I love my local IGA and don’t know why I don’t shop there more often. I found a few new products I’ve never tried and will definitely be going back to buy them again. I find the specials at IGA are heavily marked down which is great. Quite a few of the things I purchased were on special and were great value. My local IGA is very close to where I live and I don’t find it as chaotic as some of the bigger supermarkets. I think an overall shop would actually be the same price as the other supermarkets especially if you buy lots of what is on special. I find the staff so friendly as well which makes a huge difference.

  • Great value

IGA usually perceived as a more expensive option when it comes to comparing supermarkets by almost everyone I talked to. However I think this is no longer the case. On my last trip with a $60 I was able to buy all my grocery essentials and some of these were actually cheaper than the competitors on regular shelf price. On of the items which was Black&Gold product it was cheaper $2 than other 2 big supermarkets. The Weekly Specials especially the ones where the savings more than 50% increased the value of my shopping so much. The overall value I got from this visit was far better than the others. Considering checkout process in IGA is always quicker overall it was a great service trip with excellent value. I would suggest people do compare prices of Black&Gold products with competitors where you will find some really favorable prices in IGA on those lines.

  • Little gem of a supermarket, right around the corner!

I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive range available at my local IGA. While the supermarket was small, it had everything that I needed for a quick mid-week shop. I picked up some Black & Gold baked beans and the kids couldn't tell the difference between them and our usual brand.

Some of the prices of my brand products were cheaper than the big supermarkets. Since my shop, I've since started checking IGA's catalogue online each week. I didn't realise it at the time but some of the products I purchased also earned me cashback on the IGA app.

The store was busy and I can see why. Good range of products, decent prices, and all without the hassle of going to the larger supermarkets to get my essentials. The longer opening times, particularly on public holidays, will definitely save me some time and save me some stress.

  • I always feel boujee when I shop at IGA

Whenever I shop at IGA, I always feel a little bit boujee! The selection of freshly cooked meals, pre made meals and ones you can cook yourself plus they always have such good sized staples. I picked up a huge packet of SF flour and Plain flour (black and gold of course!)

  • Not sure what I was expecting..

Entering the store I honestly didn’t have high expectations that IGA would provide good value for money for my grocery shop. We are a family of 4 and budgeting is important to us in this economy. Whilst some of the prices were on par with other grocery stores, some higher (which is what I most expected). Some left me pleasantly surprised and some of the IGA prices even blew me away, being significantly cheaper than the competitors. The members discounts are great and the IGA app even has products that you can earn a cash back on, simply for doing your groceries each week. The store was a standalone store, which I absolutely loved! I didn’t have to make my way through a busy shopping centre with my pram to do my groceries. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The manager stopping to chat to my little one and I as we walked around the store. I felt valued as a customer. As I’ve gotten older, I think of value differently. Whilst not all the prices were cheaper, I felt I was more than just a number through that store. The store had meal ideas I had not even considered and items in bulk that I hadn’t seen outside of a Costco. Very impressed and will be going back more to shop for my family!

  • Real Good Value at IGA - Its True!

When I was told you can get real good value at IGA, I dismissed it as I feel local independent grocery marts are way more expensive than the mainstream supermarkets but I was so wrong. When I shopped at my local IGA store, I realised that it provides great value for everyday shopping. I was astonished by how neatly everything was displayed, with correct labels and prices. Fruits and vegetables looked very fresh and appealing and overall their prices, especially their home brand Black and Gold and specials offered really good value. I really liked the black and gold brand pasta, will certainly buy again. I loved the convenience of driving up to the store, parking close by (in my case, right outside the store) and completing the shop quickly and efficiently. Loved the convenience, the pricing and the service

  • Enjoyed my shopping

I thoroughly enjoyed my shopping experience at IGA.

The store layout isnt confusing or overwhelming so being able to find things was super easy. The range of brands was awesome, I loved browsing through all the brands that the other supermarket chains dont stock. I even grabbed myself some bacon salt rub which I have been trying to find for a long time!

The customer service was great, I scanned all my items and realised you cant use a giftcard at that cashier, the worker helped me redo it all on one that can without any hesitation.

The amount of products i got for $60 blew my mind.

I really think after thjs shopping experience i will be back to my local IGA and will definitely be checking out others if we're on holiday.

  • Great range of groceries and fresh produce, perfect for the family top up shop!

I found the range to be honestly better than I expected, the Guyra IGA store had a great range of fresh fruit and veggies as well as fresh bakery bread to choose from. I was surprised to see such a stocked deli with a range of deli meats as well as hot 'grab n go' food options which is perfect if you're on the go.

The quality of all the items was great, from dairy to fresh produce, everything was of a high quality. To be 100% honest, I did feel like budget wise some things are a little more costly than other grocery stores, but for that reason, I especially enjoy their 'Black & Gold' range, which is still quality but offers a budget friendly alternative to a wide range of groceries. To this end, the store also had some good specials running on a variety of items when I was there which is great!

I needed help to find the price of some garlic and one of the ladies working at the store was super friendly and prompt in assisting me, I do enjoy the good customer service that the IGA offers which definitely makes the whole shopping experience nicer.

Overall, I think the range of products was fantastic, the store was well stocked for all your needs and the staff were friendly and helpful but I think its a little on the pricier side for some things, that personally, it was maybe not the best in terms of value but in saying that, the 'Black & Gold' range is quite affordable and an option for a good range of groceries and for $60 you can still get quite a bit!

I think it was a fun experience and no doubt i'll be popping back in again to the Guyra IGA to grab some some more things!

  • Great value!

I was so surprised and pleased with the variety and value for money on my shop at IGA. Usually, I just run in for one or two things, but having the opportunity to do a bigger shop allowed me to explore the store a little more than I usually do. I've held the belief that IGA is often more expensive than other grocery stores, however I was proven wrong. There were some great specials and very competitive prices. I'll definitely be doing larger shops at my local IGA after this experience.

  • Great value at IGA

I absolutely loved being able to do a grocery shop at IGA. IGA provides such great value when it comes to their products especially fruit and veg. For just under $60 I managed to get some basic groceries, school snacks and dinner items! The fact some of these would’ve cost me almost double at the chain supermarkets is what makes me come back to IGA everytime. The staff at our local are so cheerful and helpful everytime I go in it really adds to the experience and is something else I value when doing my groceries! Thankyou MoM and IGA.

Mopping isn’t exactly the chore most of us look forward to, but like most mums, for Katrina Macilroy, it’s unavoidable.

With three teenagers, a husband, a dog, two cats and timber flooring throughout most of her home, there’s plenty to keep her mop busy.

“I thought the toddler stage was hard, but teenagers take it to a whole other level,” Katrina told Mouths of Mums.

She describes herself as a ‘full-time Uber driver’ for her three kids, but when she’s home, she may as well be a full-time cleaner.

Her husband is a concreter, the family has plenty of sand coming inside and, with teenagers touching everything, the floors quickly show the evidence of a full family life.

“I have to mop like every second day because the floor gets marks,” she said.

So when Katrina was given the chance to try the Vileda Easy Wring & Clean TURBO Mop & Bucket Set, she was keen to see whether it could actually make one of her least favourite cleaning tasks any easier.

“I didn’t have high hopes for it to start with, because I’ve used spin mops before and I’d been disappointed,” she admitted.

But it didn’t take long for her to change her mind. One of the first things Katrina noticed was just how easy the mop was to use.

Person using the Vileda Easy Wring & Clean TURBO mop system.

The foot pedal made wringing the mop quick and simple, without having to stop and fiddle with anything.

“It was so easy to spin it,” she says. “It wasn’t like you’re spinning it for hours or anything.”

She was also impressed by how quickly the mop itself could be put together, and the simple button that releases the mop head for washing.

“That simple press notion, everyone can do that. So I love that.”

It’s The Little Things That Add Up

For Katrina, who regularly finds herself cleaning up after a busy family, these little details made a surprisingly big difference. She also loved the triangular mop head, particularly when it came to getting into the corners and edges that her previous mop struggled with.

“The triangle design makes it easy to get into all the little corners,” she says.

But ultimately, the big question was whether it actually cleaned her floors. Katrina’s answer was an enthusiastic yes.

“My floor has never been so clean,” she says.

Katrina was also surprised by how light and manoeuvrable the mop felt, because at just 4’11”, she says mopping can sometimes be an uncomfortable job.

“I’m not a tall person, so trying to mop is always just a horrible experience.”

Person carrying the Vileda Easy Wring & Clean TURBO mop system.

But she found the Vileda Easy Wring & Clean TURBO Mop & Bucket Set easy to move around and able to go in different directions without feeling heavy or awkward.

And it wasn’t just the mop itself that won Katrina over. She says the bucket design solved one of her biggest mopping frustrations: accidentally tipping the bucket over.

With timber floors, getting too much water onto the floor is something she tries hard to avoid. “The amount of mop buckets I’ve tipped over and just gone everywhere,” she says.

That can turn a simple cleaning job into another mess to deal with, particularly when you’re suddenly scrambling for towels and a dry mop head.

But Katrina says the Vileda bucket feels much more stable because of its design.

And for someone who mops as often as she does, she says that has saved her time. “This thing has saved me so much time, I can’t get over it.”

The Only Mop You’ll Need

Katrina also admits that she’d previously convinced herself she needed a steam mop. She even bought one, only to discover that plugging it in every time she wanted to clean wasn’t exactly appealing.

“You have to plug it in like a vacuum. Like, that’s not fun, I don’t want to do that.”

After trying the Vileda, she says she’s no longer convinced she needs one.

“Why do you need a steam mop when you can get this one?”

For Katrina, the combination of being lightweight, easy to wring, simple to manoeuvre and able to get into those awkward corners has made mopping feel much less frustrating. And despite going into the trial with low expectations, she’s now very happy to recommend it.

“I’m not trying to sell you a product, but I’m just saying that I’m very impressed with it. It’s really good.”

Her final verdict?

“It’s been really, really good. Recommend!”

This Real Story was provided as part of a paid sponsorship opportunity. Katrina was chosen to share her story because she was sent out and tried the Vileda Easy Wring & Clean TURBO Mop & Bucket Set, and genuinely loved it! And Vileda is so confident they’ve made the best spin mop ever, they’re backing the new & improved Easy Wring & Clean TURBO with a 5 Year Guarantee.

  • Omg! Yes! With 4 dogs and 4 teens AND the guests they bring home with them LOL our timber floors and tiles don’t stand a chance! I would love to see them add some wheels to the bottom of the bucket so that you don’t have to carry the bucket around with you.

  • This sounds like an excellent mop that makes cleaning so easy! I love a product that not only is as effective as advertised but makes a job less grueling. I gotta say though, a steam mop that plugs in sounds like an awful idea. I have a tineco floor mop, which is cordless and charges at a base, and it’s incredible on my white tiles.
