Hello!

Advice on how to juggle kids when they attend different schools – We are moving to the Karalee / Karana downs (QLD) area at the end of the year. My son has been accepted into Mt Crosby C and K kindergarten but we are stemming towards enrolling our daughter (yr 2 next year) into Karalee School because we are looking at houses in this area as it is closet to the highway and closer to WMAC as this is where the kids are enrolled for highschool. I am really concerned about the logistics of getting from kindergarten which starts at 8.30am to school drop off at 9am. I am unable to get my son into Karalee Kinder and enrolling him in daycare with a kinder program is not an option. Has anyone out there been in this predicament and have any advice/thoughts. I have thought about enrolling my daughter in the Mt Crosby school which if we bought a house in Karalee it would mean driving over colleges crossing everyday. Anyway sorry for long message, your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

  • That’s a hard one. I had my kids last year in 3 different schools and when we then moved to Brisbane I took the chance and have them all at the same school now a 4 minutes drive from our house. School has been good and things have become so much easier…a huge amount of pressure of my shoulder

  • Have you considered carpooling with other parents?

  • i WOULD EXPLAIN SITUATION TO HEAD MISTRESS YOUR PREDICAMENT AND REQUEST THAT AT PRESENT ELDER CHILD MAY BE LATER FOR SCHOOL (NO RUSHING STRESSFUL AND A DANGER). YOU MAY MEET OTHER MOTHERS WHO CAN ORGANISE A CAR POOL OR OTHER SOLUTION. PARENT /TEACHER MEETINGS GOOD TO GET TO KNOW OTHERS AND SHARE ISSUES. HOPE THIS HELPS. DRIVE CAREFULLY IS MAIN OBJECTIVE

  • Talk with both schools and they might give some insight into which way to do it to benefit the kids. Mine go to different schools and both schools are understanding if the kids aren’t precisely on time everyday

  • I hope you work something out

  • Oh gosh there will be some full on days for you and the kids.

  • That is a hard one I hope you get the answer your looking for

  • so hard to juggle good luck with it

  • Maybe you should get the house first because until this is decided you won’t be positive which area you will end up living in.Try and get the children into the same school as this will make life easier for the family. For 12 months I drove an hour 1 way to my son’s primary school after we moved homes as it was his last year and he didnt want to change schools I was glad when the year was over as I spent too many hours on the road and it does become very tiring and nothing gets done at home Good luck

  • I agree with dropping kindy off after school
