Hello!

Hi mums!
I fell pregnant straight after I graduated my second degree and then had another baby straight after the first. I’ve been a SAHM for 4 years. I can still feel my $38,000 hecs debt hanging over my head and feel like I’m losing everything I learnt. I really want to enter the work force in some way shape or form just to keep my brain working and my resume not looking obsolete. However my husband works FIFO so it’s just me for 4 weeks at a time and I still breastfeed my youngest. I would love to do something from home a few days a week!!! Any advice or ideas??

  • Have a specific room or area of the house that is for work only and treat it like you would an outside job.

  • Have a look at what you can do, what you enjoy doing, what you’re qualified to do and go from there

  • I am planning on going back to TAFE next year and studting bookkeeping which I can then hopefully do from home

  • It does depend on your degree and what area you are interested in pursuing. Maybe look into joining LinkedIn for jobs in your field – it may be helpful. Ultimately only you can decide on your path.

  • What are your degrees in? This might be a good starting points as you may be able to do some marking?

  • There is a Facebook page called WAHM for work at home mums. they advertise jobs and business that can be done from home. Good luck

  • i tried to do a couple of jobs from home, herbalife, isagenix but i couldn’t fathom ripping people off. could you try and find something that is maybe 10-2 a couple of days a week that use your skills obtained? and maybe express one bottle. i completely understand about the resume looking obsolete, its tough trying to be a working mum :)

  • I was lead to believe there are some company’s that outsource their data entry. Not sure how correct this is, but it might be worthwhile investigating.

  • what are you good at? can you use that as a starting point
