  • My daughter did the same thing from time to time. I take her back to her room and settle her back to sleep. It’s hard to break the cycle but it’s in your best interest to do it.

  • How old is your daughter ?
So she falls asleep well in her bed but wanders into your bedroom in the night for cuddles. Depends all on what you want yourself with this behavior and how important it is for you to break this circle.
When you truly want to stop this you might want to make clear during the day that the night is for sleep and not for waking eachother up for cuddles. Spend extra time for cuddles during the day and don’t respond with cuddles during the night, otherwise you just re-enforce her behavior.
However each kids is different and some kids might be a bit more fearful.
I left for years a mattress on the floor of our bedroom where our kids could sleep when they were scared.
My son slept on the floor of our bedroom till he was 11 years old !! Always being scared for rain and the funnel web spiders coming out (which happened regularly indeed). Then when we moved house this year he decided to sleep in his own room and doesn’t need the mattress in our room anymore.

  • Night light on in the bedroom or hallway. Give your little one a cuddle and say now it’s time to go back to bed so we can have lots of fun tomorrow. Letting her stay is unfortunately creating bad habits. my son use to come in 12 times a night. It started as he use to come in wanting cuddles and we let him sleep in with us for months… Like 6 months and when I decided to put my foot down it turne into that! No sleep for anyone. A little bit of bribery and then lots of praise when they do stay in their own bed. It’s hard, wish there was a child Manuel sometimes. Goodlucck

  • Hi neat22. She has a stary light pillow pet, and night light. And we keep lights on In the house all night. She falls asleep fine in her room. But wakes up every night around midnight and comes in, don’t know if I should be forcing her back into her room as when she comes in she says she want cuddles. But I will definitely try the picture next to the bed. Thank you for your suggestion, I will happily try anything.

  • Have you thought of printing out a picture of you with your child to stick on wall by bed..Have they got a nihtlamp. like pillow pet light?
